I've been to my Sony store in December and I saw this laptop. I liked and and all but it had an INTEL video card so I didn't get it. I went with the Vaio CW instead.
I have the NW20EF, i'm not really sure about this, i just want to ask do you think this model i got is good? i wonder if you can help with it, the laptop is nice itself but i'm still not convince at all. :)
oh i see. i was checkin out the new nw210, and it does have 512mb of ram, 4 gigs of ram and win7 on 64bit... so theoretically it should run gta4 and new games, right?
oh.. i'm sorry, your problem is with the intel video card. it just SUCKS. momentarely i have a dell laptop with an intel video card, and yeah, i have the same problem. it SUCKS.
that's why i was so astonished. the new sony vaio has ATI Radeon 4570 cards with 512 DEDICATED memory, not like bullshit intel video cards.. never buy a laptop with intel graphics, it just sucks in games..
@jonoaa as far as i know, processors can't be upgraded in laptops. Only rams, HDDs, (and graphics cards i think, but im not sure) are upgradable. So once you buy it with that kind of processor, its forever that way, no way to change it..
@f2szilard666 i agree, a laptop with specs like that should be fine for gta4, but maybe on low settings only. Games like gta4 and NFS Shift for example are memory hungry games, which should work fine for a graphics card with 1gb of memory and 42nm specs, like geforce 210m or g130m.

i'm seriously thinking of changing my shitty dell laptop with a sony nw series, like the new nw210, which has 512 of video ati hd4650, 4 gigs of ram. and i really want a good graphics card, since i wanna mainly use it for rendering and photoshop, like 3ds max and autocad. and to be able to play some kick ass new games :D

Haven't tried that particular model of ati yet, but for the reviews, 512mb vram graphics cards work good for games, and it should work well with photoshop and autocad. But it won't perform as well like those cards with 1gb vram. I have more hands-on experience with Nvidia rather than ATI, and so far, i like Nvidia cards better, they seem to perform better.
well oufcourse, 1 gig of video is twice as 512 megs :D. just before i bought my laptop, i had a home pc with an nvidia graphics card, and i do agree, i prefer nvidia over ati. maybe it's a matter of tastes, i don't know. cheers!
@MistuhCoolio I love this laptop, bur battery life does kinda suck. You would have to adjust power saving options to maximize power. Other then that, the laptop has been great.
I'm trying to get my nieces the pink one for Christmas but the price jumped from $649 to $799 right before my eyes lol now I'm trying to find one that will be good at playing games ,pink and under $799 I'm looking at the NW250 it has a Better GPU but it doesn't have Blu-ray , have you played any games on this one?
I got this just because of the black friday deal. i am not a game person. all i do is watch dvds and play music. the audio and video output is cool. not sure about gaming.
I found a VAIO NW270F/S with all of the stats mentioned in the description bar and it even has Blu Ray. I saw it today at Best buy for $699. I don't know if this helps you, but I tried.

ive got the vgn-nw26m model. Takes forever starting up ebevn tho its a brand new laptop. Any ideas or any1 face a similar problem?

gta iv requires a windows level of at least 4.5 to play ( 5 reccommended)
it will play gta sa and mid-range games
but very sleek and cool laptop
just not for the gamer

I'm the same, I will be getting a vaio at the end of this month, for me the only thing that lets this laptop down is the graphics card.
