  • FLIPPED!!! I MISS YOU!

  • Oh,, yeah,,, :))))

  • The first time I heard this song I wasn't born.

    I'm 73 years old.

  • Joe vs the Volcano~~~~~

  • Oh gosh, I was born in the wrong decade.

Honestly, being a teenager in the 50s/60s seems TEN TIMES more fun than it is now :| technology, i swear...

  • THE GRATEFUL DEAD SUCKED.

  • Vietnam: The Experience and my good taste of music and love of the sixties brought me here.

    Seriously, vietnam the experience anyone?

  • Awesome... yeah yeah yeah ,,,,,,,,, yeahh

  • Better than grateful dead!!!

  • @Thesupernoah1 Nothing's better for the Head than the Dead lol

  • @Thesupernoah1 Everything is better than the Grateful Dead.

  • I first heard this is Ghost Whisperer during Melinda's husband's funeral, then I heard it again in Flipped and I was like I have to hear this song, so Thanks, Ghost Whisperer and Flipped! : ))

  • Took forever to find the name of this song

  • i like this version the best and it took me forever to find this song

  • This song is by the grateful dead.

  • @usa13245 No, the song was originally done by a group called the Olympics and both The Young Rascals and The Grateful Dead did covers of the song. See wfarrar69 below.

  • SAME HERE

  • This song was number 1 on the Pop charts the week I was born in April 1966. No wonder I've always liked this song!

  • love it!

  • antdigger:this song was actually done by someone else.the olympics(of''western movies'' fame)hit#81pop in 1965 with it first.the young rascals hit #1pop 1966 with it.the grateful dead did it on their ''shakedown street'' lp in 1978,i believe.no rip-offs here, just young rascals and grateful dead doing cover versions of this song.

  • These guys ripped off Grateful Dead.

  • @antdigger

    These guys wrote the song.

  • @antdigger The Greatful Dead cover this song. If anything they ripped off them!

  • Now that is what I call music!!!

  • listening to it in 2011

  • At aging singles dances, all the chicken-necked woman and beer belly men count, "1,2,3,4 - 1,2,3," during the gap in this song (1:58). They roar this out to keep in step during the silence. LMAO (age 62)

  • #1pop in 1966.my favorite song by them :).6 people 's good lovin' went bad.

  • Great song from the 60s, a party fave for its day !! STILL stands the test of time, & at retro-parties, we still go beserk on the dance-floor to this one. Bring Back THAT ORGAN SOUND !!

  • Flipped brougth me here

  • yeah, i mean the new music is just electronic

  • ya know thats the problem with the younger generation! no structure in their lives and their parents had no idea where they were and probably didn't give a shit! all they were thinking of was where their next hit of crack was coming from or whats taking their heroin dealer so long to get back!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 this country is going to hell and i'm glad i won't be here to see it! i just feel sorry for my kids and the structured young people in the world. i hope they have the sense to make a change!

  • Loved the Rascals. Good time music with great vocal melodies. Folks would be suprised that these guys before hitting it big with blue eye good time harmonic music, they were a proto-punk band. Some of their early music was loud, raw and edgy.

  • Gotta be th second best rock song ever! The energy, the drive, the life. Too bad about thew stupid outfits, but that's how some of us dressed back then.

  • STOML type of song. Rolling down the interstate to see with this tune being cranked out with volume on max. Good times!

  • High school age. Rascals were our music. Attempted to se them in Framingham Mass. in the mid sixties. Did get to see them at Umass Amherst, Still enjoy at age 60.

    Byng

  • 2:29- classic count off, guitar and organ solo, false ending, the list could go on for days why this tune is perfect...

  • Great great song. Anybody knows the Dead live version? Amazing..

  • Press 7 and that's my favorite part right there. ^_^

  • Flipped...=")

  • Desperation.

From this silence, something may arise...

  • Flipped!!!

  • this was on the flipped movie trailer but not on the soundtrack- went insane finding this! thank you!!

  • Excelente!!!

Me gusta mucho las versiones de Bruce Willis y la de Bobby Mc Ferrin!!!

    Saludos!!!

  • " GREAT MEMORIES!!! THANKS

  • Is this the mono version? Cause I have it on 8-track and the vocals come in on alternating speakers

  • @silverking5820 HAHA! Yeah i have :P Was the best funeral i ever seen lol... i want that funeral when my time is coming ^^

  • Quite possibly the second bet rock 'n' roll song ever. high energy! 1:30 AM on Far East Network Okinawa - oh, yaaaassss.

  • Im so going to have this on my funeral! Never ever sad music! no no!

  • @ZomZom84 FELIX plays the trumpet solo on the organ like on the original record by the vibrations

  • @ZomZom84 someone has been watching ghost whisperer ;)

  • noodle love<3

  • All we need is some good lovin'

  • my girl :)

  • GREAT SONG IN 1966!!! I REMEMBER IT WHEN I WAS A SENIOR IN H.S.

IT SEEMS KIKE YESTERDAY!!!!!! I LOVE THIS SONG....

  • #262 greatest songs of the 60s

  • asskickin' high school dance song from my Long Island 60's. Massapequa anyone?

  • fantastic clear version. Thanks!!!!

  • The only group I heard in those days that could sing the gutsiest song of it's time and be able to sing the most beautiful songs at the same time! Like, "How Can I Be Sure", "Groovin'" and "A Beautiful Morning"! I remember, everyone loved them! The Young Rascals stood out on their own!

  • sorry but the kinks did you really got me (THAT song has huge balls) and also waterloo sunset.

the beatles did ticket to ride and in my life for example.

the beach boys also could rock if they wanted, like on bluebirds over the mountain or their early surf hits, and their baroque pop is only rivaled by the beatles.

the rascals are great , but came out in a time where great was the least you had to have to get hits.

in todays music they would stick out, but back then, nothing that special.

  • @OropherThranduil Well although The Kinks' song, "You Really Got Me" was gutsy, they had another called, "Louie Louie" and it was even more so and they used the F word in it, which my brother and i thought was odd, cause in those days, radio stations didn't allow that word! So i agree the Kinks were gutsy! However, they weren't the only ones...Don't forget Eric Burton and the Animals and The Stones, Janis Joplin, and many more! I meant The Young Rascals were versatile, that's all!

  • @endylovesmusic

louie louie was by the kingsmen, the kinks cover sucks, it has zero power behind it.

yeah, burdon had balls, best white bluessinger ever, as blues singer singer jagger stands no chance against him, the beatles were gutsy too, just like the beach boys and even bands like the dave clark 5 could rock hard in live concererts.

janis is another time frame of rock music.

yeah, versatile bands, beatles on number 1. that#s one of the reasons why i love them so much.

  • @OropherThranduil You're right! It was the Kingsmen! So there were 2 more groups that were gutsy back then. But we need to end this, because it's hard to discuss music with ppl who are stuck on one group, let alone, a genre...I'm too versatile for some. I'm 55, but always kept up with the top 40s, and I even believe 2009 was one of the best yrs. for music! Most ppl my age, are into 1 genre or 1 group! I get bored with that. I don't know what to say my friend....Endy

  • @endylovesmusic

ahhhhh, i hate todays music in general, some good alternative rock bands, some good metal and punk (not green faggot day) and so on, but damn, most of it sucks, and i'm 19.

but the kingsmen didn't do that on purpose, and they didn't have enough money to pay more sessions i think.

i'm just not into modern bands or music, why should i listen to maria carey when i can listen to aretha franklin, why to green day if the ramones records are still as fresh as 30 years ago and so no.

  • @OropherThranduil EXCUSE ME!!! but if ur gonna say things like that that express your opinion, please dont speak against spiecific bands that some of us may like, such as green day. you opinion is welcome here, but not if you're gonna say things like that. even though i don't like modern music either, (dont worry, ur not alone!) i still don't speak against it. but i do agree otherwise. modern music is a lot different.

  • Quote: Johnny Rotten:

'Green Day wouldn't have had a leg to stand on in the punk heyday and that they have since nicked punks ideas. They're sticky tape on a ducks arse. They wouldn't have survived it. We had to earn our wings. So there we are fending off all that and it pisses me off that years later a wank outfit like Green Day hop in and nick all that and attach it to themselves. They didn't earn their wings to do that and if they were true punk they wouldn't look anything like they do."

  • @OropherThranduil your right, and they shouldnt've done that, but sum of us still like their music. If they would've done things right you wouldn't care. but to tell you the truth, I dont really care. people shouldnt be that way. Its music. Ment for enjoyment, not a money making scam.

  • @ImFree2BeMyself

Yeah, and green day ARE the Epitome of a sell out money making scam.

A punk musical, for christs sake.

  • @endylovesmusic 2009? On what planet?

  • Someone plugged them in.

  • I'm so glad to hear that young people today, regardless of what else they listen to, can appreciate this song. It was one of the anthems from my generation. When I first discovered this outstanding upload I had to go through a couple dozen "inferior" renditions. I was so glad to have it at my fingertips whenever I needed it that I listened to it at least once a day for a month. (At that time it had less than 6K hits...now look at it!) It's better than a cup of joe to get you going in the am.

  • awesome!!!!

  • I said Doctor , Mr M.D. , can you tell me , WTH is wrong with music today? I got a fever and i need a cure.

  • @leeroytheguitarist cowbell

  • I always heard it as "Hood Love".

  • What a damn good song. Just gets ya movin

  • must have been awesome music, in the vietnam jungle with a monkey on your back

  • @LeNouveau lol wtf!?

  • @XtrmMcjohnson with a monkey on your back = on heroin

  • @LeNouveau

hell yes, i think one of the hymns over in the nam was these boots are made for walking, since they walked all day trough the jungle.

  • UN BUEN AMOR-THE RASCALS

  • I just realized today that they were saying "good lovin'" I imagine I should have known because its the name of the song, but it just didn't even cross my mind.

  • @95jonesie It took me ten minutes to find this song because I kept searching "Do the Love" hahaha

  • @NikkiBay8 So glad I'm not the only one who misunderstood. When I told my dad that I had just figured out that they were saying "Good Lovin'" He looked at me like I was an idiot.

  • @95jonesie It must be our age. haha. My friends dad poked her face in the car while Gaga's song was on. He thought it was saying "Poke Her Face."
