A USPS Rural Carrier throwing packages in Rio Rancho, NM

OMG you idiot! That is someone delivering phone books. We rural carriers carry from the passenger side, have flashing amber lights and would not cross the lane to deliver from that side. I know some who do throw thingsm but not this time. Get a life, fool.

Write to your district safety office. Ask where they want you to send this video. Unless your street is one way, she is driving against traffic (illegal, unsafe and stupid). She is exposing the USPS to liability. The customer service issues will go away when she gets fired. DSI

First, she doesn't have a flashing amber light or her four way flashers.  Second, rural carriers don't deliver from the driver's side because that would completely screw up the order of route delivery. Third... why are you filming your mail woman in the first place?

@posthumanfetus 1. exactly! 2 Not if your pull the mail down from the case backwards. Rural Carriers case ALL(even DPS) the mail. 3. To prove that she was throwing our packages and delivering completely wrong. The only way to prove to the Post Office that this carrier was a POS was to videotape! I was a city carrier and they still didn't believe me when I complained. We have 8 houses on our street and the mail was always mis-delivered!

@otrdave Well, you did answer my questions. It just all seems so strange, and I guess she is doing her delivery all wrong. I'd suspect she was either new or just dumb, because driving on the wrong side of the street is actually extremely dangerous... not that it's not already pretty dangerous to drive a left hand vehicle from the passenger's side.

Actually, mail carriers know better then to deliver to houses with dogs, of which, you happen to own TWO! So, suck it! USPS rules!

That is so unbelievable and embarrassing for the rest of us mail carriers! It is sad there are reckless carriers out there that don't care. If you see something like this you need to call the postmaster...Oh and yes the post office does care. This carrier should have been warned and if did it again then be written up etc.

I am a city carrier, I called the station and was told rural carriers have different duties(what a joke). This wasn't first time and hasn't been the last.

Well, if you are a city carrier, I don't understand why would you say "USPS sucks and needs to be privatized", it's the carrier faults.

By the way I'm a Rural Carrier myself, and I do believe that what she did was very unacceptable, the Rural Carrier contract never say any about throwing packages is okay, your postmaster just don't know. Warn the carrier yourself if you have to whenever you catches her.

I don't know if it's just me but she's delivering mails on the wrong side of the street.
