  • video is kinda skipping, how many frames is it ?

  • AWESOME VIDEO MAN!

  • This song reminds me of my childhood

  • Good. I wish you had given the squirrel a zoom shot.

  • My father flies a helicopter JUST like that down in England

  • extremely fat... squirrel.

  • 2 videos shot with hf100

  • i hate the quality on the camera

  • I thought your camera might have been a it better than my Sony HDR-XR520VE.

But it's not.. I'm happy I bought the Sony now. I nearly bought the Canon. No Viewfinder though, is there? The Sony has the Viewfinder and Awesome Image Stabilisation.

  • @DamiansChannel Well what can you expect from a product thats twice the price of the Canon?

  • @DamiansChannel Yeah i tottaly agree the sony records in 1080 this one in 720 sony also has viewfinder 120 gb build in memory

  • @elias121974 wow can I have your camera, you don't deserve it

  • hi i have a question?. i have an hd 720 camcorder and i want to know how to burn the movie in a dvd disc thanks.

  • when i put hd why does it lag

  • It lags because you MIGHT have an old CPU and Graphics card.

  • "only" HD not Full HD ^^

  • fat ass squirrel

  • lol :PPPP true true

  • how big is the file to upload this to youtube, how many MB

  • @CDKWalkthroughs More like Gigabytes...

  • hey can u tell me where u got this and how much it cost? thanks

  • black bars everywhere now!!

  • Nice video! thanks for posting.

    who/what is the sound track?

  • Hey, duncaninchina. Does the Canon HF100 have a 1280x720 recording option? I'd rather not have to record at 1920x1080 when I'm going to be uploading 720p video to Youtube. I hope you respond. :]

  • In the best quality mode it records in full HD. But in the next setting down it records in 720i. To be honest I found the lower settings still gave a good quality picture. (Except the lowest) This video is one of my first attempts to film in HD. These days I make full length HD videos of up to 33 minutes in length. You need a powerful computer & a good editing software. Pinnacle, Magix and the new Corel Videostudio all support HD editing. These days I convert all my HD footage into MPEG2, 720p.

  • Hey, how do you convert the avchd footage into mpeg2 or is it possible to convert it to anything to make it easier to edit, thanks

  • This is extremely boring. If you recorded yourself sleeping that would be more entertaining!

  • You are sooo right !

  • That's some nice footage :)

  • interlaced :(

  • Did you use Pinnacle for edit it?

  • Awesome HD it looked amazing. 5/5.

  • how do i know that i have HD?

  • an hd camcorder? if its mini dv than its not hd

  • no hdv cameras record hd to the mini dv tape format by using an mpeg2 compression. And yes there are professional hdv cameras and I have an hv30 and it definitely shoots hd to mini dv tapes.

  • which converter do you use?? if you use the image mixer 3 can you pls tell me where the series nr. is???

    thx

  • Your squirrel is overweight. Get some diet nuts for it :)

  • haha

  • i would have to agree haha good call

  • I think fluffy squirrels are sexy !

  • good Depth of field on the squirrel. There were some compression artifacts in the tree in the first shot. Thanks so much for posting. I think I'm going to go with the HF200 now that it's out.

    ~Trav

  • damm this squirrel should think about weight watchers xDD so damn fat !

  • nice :)

  • omg... how cute... What kind of squirrel is it? Looks different from our squirrels here in Germany. BTW: The quality of your vid is excellent! 5 stars!

  • I think its Latin name is "Massivus fattus Squirrilellous" otherwise known as the common pie squirrel.

  • @ Energonorama: VERY FUNNY... haha...ty so much! For all people who took my serious request seriously: the squirrel shown in MrDuncan´s movie is called "Sciurus carolinensis" aka "grey squirrel" whereas the species exisiting in Germany is called "Sciurus vulgaris" and looks rather different. Anyway: excellent job, Mr Duncan.

  • hey man what progarm do you use to edit your AVCHD film?!

  • i use iMovie. Versions '08 and '09 have native support for AVCHD and are very easy to use. (also, they both upload directly to Youtube, which is awesome.)

    ~Trav

  • Aww what a fat squirrel XD Perfect 5*

  • thank u this helped

  • do you convert your vids into a different format like an mp4?

  • Comment removed

  • which is better quality 720p or 1080p

  • 1080p

  • HF100 doesn't do 60p, but 60i. It doesn't do 720 either. It's all 1080 with two possible horizontal resolutions. 1920 or 1440 or something.

It's best to record in 1080 60i and then convert to 60p using a de-interlacer that doesn't halve the frame rate.

You'll get the smoothest motion from that by far. *way* nicer than 30p or the bogus 24p.

  • These days I render all of my HD footage in 720p. It is easier to manage and suits Youtube better too.

  • Is it the FXP setting that allows you to record in FULL HD!?

  • Yes...but it is not easy to edit unless you have a powerful PC.

  • You could convert the FXP video to 720p, and then edit from there. Keep the originals for the future (never delete those!).

  • you have sony vegas?

  • nope

  • Get the demo version of it then look up on youtube how to get HD in sony vegas

  • i do it awsome

  • if using windows movie maker when publishing, instead of best quality for playback on computer(recomended)

Click the bottom button and choose the drom-down menu for 1080p

  • my window movie maker sucks.... it never works... it ALWAYS closes me out

  • U r lucky, u get it in HD

  • that squril was so fat!

  • its in imovie 09, you can use a torrent if you dont want to buy, only takes bout 2 days

  • just use imovie stabilization...its amazing!

  • i mean .mts

also i just got song vegas movie studio 8. i cant drag that file onto vegas.. any help?

  • i just got this camera, how do I save the vids onto my computer? when i drag the vid from my sd card onto my comp, it is .vob file. and it lags like crap. any suggestion?

  • well you shuld go to curcitcity and get an hd video cam i got mine for only $109

this is what it looks like all i did was upload it i dident even put it in wmm

    /watch?v=EYqiR_XCreQ

  • hey how long did it take for your hd option to come up? all im getting is the high quality option.

  • im sorry but this song sounded like it came off a commercial

  • Nice Video it looks so clear on HD... Can you please tell me what program you used to render and at what settings... Thanks...

  • Sorry for the late reply..I used

'Ulead-Videostudio 11.5 Plus' to render this

selection of clips. It gives you some nice auto settings for processing. I used the 'WMV HD 30 fps' setting, which rendered the shots perfectly. The down-side is that you need a very high-spec computer to run this programme in HD format on. I'm using 'Quad Core' at 2.40GHz and 3GB RAM and even that struggles. For good HD edit playback you need over 3.0GHz processing speed. The latest Intel chips can do this.

  • I understand that the hf100 doesn't have a viewfinder but can you still shoot videos without the live-view open or is it somehow mandatory to be open?

  • Sadly when you close the LCD screen the lens protector closes too, so filming is not possible. However you can get around this by turning the function button to view clips and then turn it back to camera mode, the shutter will open and you are then able to film without the LCD screen. Also the lens protector opens when you power-up with the LCD screen in the closed position. Hope this is helpful. (Misterduncan)

  • Thanks, that helped me a lot.

  • Thanks from me too.

  • you can! press record, and close the screen, the cam keeps on recording. i have it.

  • Oh yes....you can close the viewfinder during recording.....(The most obvious one). Thanks for that ! ;-))

  • Good choice, bought the same 3 months ago ;) I I can recomend vimio . com for HD videos, they care more about HD quality that youtube.

  • The HD video has much more definition than the LD one.

  • Looks great! I thought the helicopter was a RC one for a while. :)

  • Hi...thanks for the quick feedback. This video is just a test. You can see the full HD quality by clicking the small blue "Watch in HD" button at the bottom right of the screen. I'm not going to upload many things in HD because it takes too long to buffer or cache. This is just a test. 8-))

    (Misterduncan)

  • Hi MisterDuncan I think it looks the same as your other vidios. I think it doesn't depend on your video camare definition. Youtube's quality can not go any further than this no matter what's the quality of your vidios.

    Bye! Charming squirrel!

  • haha, chubby little squirrel, nice footage friend.
