  • YOU GUYS ARE FREAKIN AWESOME!

  • I saw this live, and was dissapointed, because my taste was slightly different then, and i wanted to see them play another of their songs because this is one of my least fav songs of all time, but switchfoot can make anything good

  • Jon is secretly a rapper. XD

  • holy cow, did the beastie boys steal this from switchfoot?

  • @crazystrongtower no they stole it from beastie boys lol

  • IN OTHER NEWS, this is such a good cover.

  • @MarkOpee I am not a christian and even I know Switchfoot is christian but they are dare I say the best band in our world today! It's people like you that discuss me!!! Freaking want to start shit for no reason! Get a life and try not to spend so much time on the internet harassing people!

  • So here's your logic. Switchfoot leads bible study on tours, they hold bro-am every year for homeless kids, they have biblical truth in their music, and they collect canned food and backpacks at their shows. But because the keyboardist showed a symbol with his hands in a photoshoot (that i strongly believe that he thought it means i loves you) most likely in a humorous manner, they are heretics and should not be listened to. I appreciate your concern, but i am not arguing with you any longer.

  • Why does it seem like all the comments in German? And written by crazy Christian fundamentalists who think rock and roll is the devil's music? Haha.

  • if the germans have finished their pointless bitching id just like to say FUCK YEA! that was awesome, who knew they had it in em!

  • YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

  • i prefer "Retrack" band fron brazil

  • @MarkOpee1 Have you ever listened to Jon Foreman's (vocalist, guitarist) solo stuff? It's pretty explicitly Christian, if that's what you need from him. Or just listen to Tim Foreman (Jon's brother, bassist) talk about his faith some time. What does it matter to you if their LYRICS aren't explicitly Christian? Take a piece of advice from St. Francis - "Preach the Gospel at all times. Use words if necessary."

  • @IrreverendGawne The "christian" lyrics don't matter, if the symbols they use and the msuic they play is satanic. Even Black Sabbath has a "christian" song in their reprtoire: "After Forever". Christians today are blinded by the lyrics and so don't care about the wickedness of Satan's deceiption. You have been fooled by Switchfood which are blinded. St. Francis quote sounds nice in the ears but is a contradiction to God's word where is written to preach the gospel

  • @MarkOpee1 Dear Sir, I appreciate the concern that you hold for your fellow Christian, however, I believe that Switchfoot has gotten many things about modern worship correct. I assure that they worship the Lord to the full extent of their capabilities, and that the beauty of the music that they create has lead many other people to do the same. A person listening to this cover might then listen to "Let Your Love Be Strong" or "Hello Hurricane", songs whose lyrics embody true Christian spirit.

  • @jomihaka what about the occult symbolism? "Christinans"? True Christians do true christian works which are conform to the Bible and do not use occult symbols so far. Christians won't call an album "Vice Verses" won't they? True christians know their sheperd by His voice and would trun to him in time than to defend all kind of "christian wannabees".

  • @MarkOpee1 I fail to see any occult symbolism. I see 5 guys who love the Lord.

  • @jomihaka Of course you don't see occult symbols because you never did take care of it. If you are familiar with it, then you realize suddenlx, there is something wrong. There are somme good documentations on YouTube. The occult symbols at Switchfoot are: il cornuto sign and Baphomet (one arm is up, the other down). Both symbols can be seen in the public photos of their homepage. When Switchfoot love the Lord, why do they look wicked on the photos? This is not Christ-like. Wake up!

  • Comment removed

  • @MarkOpee1 You are reading too far into something that is nothing. Their charity, goodwill, and love that they show to every human is enough to show me that they are Christ-like.

  • @jomihaka You seem to don't know anything of the background of symbolism used in public. And Chrislike is someone who is obedient to God#s word. You did not say anything about the wicked look on the promo phots. Whre is the legitimastion of the Scriptue that Christians are allowed to look that way for promo intentions? Do Swirchfoot really know Christ by heart? EbEven Nitzsche said the Christians should look more "saved". Switchfoot = frauds.

  • @MarkOpee1 Switchfoot's bassist has said they are Christian by faith, not genre. So your argument is flawed.

You don't believe Switchfoot is Christian? Listen to some of the stuff off their latest album. And Jon Foreman's solo EPs. Youtube is your friend.

  • they are christians. watch interviews, talk to the guys after concerts, actually listen to what they say. it's called being in the world, but not of the world. they've clearly said that the reason they don't have songs titled "praise the Lord" or "I love Jesus" is because they don't want to build up a wall between Christian and Secular. They want to provide music that can allow worship for Christians, but that non-christians can enjoy and maybe be introduced to a new way of thinking.

  • @ahicks543 They are NOT! Look at the occult symbols they use and how wicked they look! They are frauds. The Jesus they claim to know is NOT the jesus of the Bible. Wake up and go back to the narrow way. Worship is not about enjoying but giving God all the glory. The most precious worship is wrtitten in Romas 12:1+2 and practised, when believers lay down their life for the gospel as martyrs. The whole worship movment is sick. It's an industry, a lifestyle.

  • @MarkOpee1 Worship does change. Worship is not purely hymns though. That was a way of worship earlier in our history. It worked with that time period. Those worship songs hold true today, but new ways are being introduced. Some ways are flawed. but they are still valid. Switchfoot is not a worship band. They are christians in a band. You are not in a position to judge anothers faith. Remove the log from your own eye before the speck of anothers

  • @ahicks543 This worship still works TODAY or did you never hear from the converts of Islam which have to sacrifice their life for Jesus? I wanted to say that TRUE worship has NOTHING to do with performing songs at all. It's a lifestyle and CCM has made a business out of it. And you don't realize it because you like theworld too much. This is hard but how many horus do you spend listening to music? I don#t judge, but prove according to the Bible. Switchfott? No points!

  • @MarkOpee1 Jon (the lead singer) recently posted a link on facebook raising awareness for a christian pastor in the middle east facing death charges. I encourage you to reconsider your view of switchfoot. They do make money off of their music, but not as much as you might think. Besides, why are you opposing this band? There are bands out there that just want to make money but I assure you its not Switchfoot. Please read "making a living" that jon foreman wrote in the huffington post.

  • @MarkOpee1 Worship is a lifestyle. That's not to say that every person should live the same. God has graced us with free will and the ability to make our own decisions. I spend a lot of time listening to music. Just the other day, i was going for a run and the Switchfoot song "Restless" came on. I found myself worshipping God. It's a song about searching for truth and God. If Switchfoot was in it for the money, they would sound very different. And i dont think switchfoots looking for points

  • Oh good gracious, this is...bizarre.

    But in a good way.

  • way to cover the only beastie boys song i really like :)

  • Great job, bouys!!! You be the rat's ass!

  • Was that really Jon singing? for some time i thought it was the original song, Jon's voice was very different

  • @SeidelMatheus yup. who to sing like the beastie boys: really loud and like you have a bad nose cold :)

  • holy crap. simply awesome

  • fucking awesome cover!

  • Ay you guys claim to be Christian? You're frauds!

  • @MarkOpee1 how are they frauds? because lots of Christians listen to non christian music.

  • @Ihaveswitchedfoot they are frauds claimeing to be Christians". Their new album exposes them false Christian. Title "Vice verses". is this Chriatian? NO.And the promo potos show one of them posing with two hands making the Il Cornuto" satanic symbol. So they're closer to Satan than to Christ! Wake up, all around and repent!

  • @MarkOpee1 Wow. lol You my friend are terribly misinformed.

  • @dannyboyLaugh No; i'm not misinformend; I just told, what's to be found on their homepage

  • @MarkOpee1 just saying (im not trying to be rude) but if you hate switchfoot that much then why bother posting that you hate them? I dont like katy perry's music or lady gaga's but I dont bother posting that they are horrible or that people should not listen to them.

  • @Ihaveswitchedfoot Well, you got me wrong. My thread is not about hating Switchfoot, but to open the eyes of the deceived folks all around. Switchfoot claim to be Christians, but their records and their loges deny this! You guys should consider that this is part of a worldwide brainwash program to deceive Christians and hinder Christians to obey the Great Commandment to preach the gospel to all the nations. Instead of this, Christians behave like the wolrd with its entertainment. Repent!

  • @MarkOpee1 hahahahaha

  • @like400zombies Kohelet 7:3+4

  • @MarkOpee1 is the title "vice verses" satanic in any way?

  • @IDoWhatIWantTV It's a contradiction to God's word. Why do they use "vice verses"? They disobey God's word and diobedience is a sin like witchcraft. Look what Samuel told to Saul after he disobeyed God's word...

  • @MarkOpee1 Vice Verses = songs about their struggles. Their vices. Their failure to attain perfection. In other words, their humanity.

  • @superclaydude and what about the dark look and the occult symbols?

  • @MarkOpee1 My best bet is that they were in a photo shoot and the photographer said "look like rockstars", and jerome threw the symbols up. The symbols that mean "I LOVE YOU". No, Helen keller was not a satan worshipper, she was a believer in the New Church.

  • @IDoWhatIWantTV this is only an assumption. But even this was true it would be a contradiction to God#s word. Why shall they look evil like rockstars? @ Helen keller: I looked int the web for H.K. and New Chruch. I found: "Miss Keller, a Christian, makes it clear that she is an ardent believer in the 'New Church' views of Christianity. As a Swedenborgian (as the denomination is sometimes called), she looks upon Swedenborg's writings as being supplementary to and an explanation of the Bible."

  • @MarkOpee1 even if she was not a true believer, that does not mean she made occult symbols.

  • @IDoWhatIWantTV What's wrong with that? When someone is into Spritism, then it is absolutely plausible that he/she uses occult symbols because the spirits channel these symbols to the "mediums". Someone who believes in Swedenborgianism" is a spiritist and has so contact to the evil spirits (Eph. 6) - even he/she do not realize that. And these spirits deceive their victims. Of course this was the reason for the "love" symbol. Satan loves to invert Christianity. He used occult symbols ever since

  • @IDoWhatIWantTV And by the way: your YT nickname is"I Do What I Want". So you refer to Aleister Crowley's mantra "Do what thou wilt, that shall be the whole of the law". Coincidence? What do you want to express with that?

  • @MarkOpee1 it's an inside joke with my friends. I don't actually do what I want.

  • @IDoWhatIWantTV If I were yyou I would chnage it to show the distance to Crowley - if you are a Christian

  • @IDoWhatIWantTV part 2: Swedenborg was called "the father of modern Spiritism" so if Helen Keller refers to his writing additionally to the Bible she is no true believer but deceieved.

  • @MarkOpee1 I did some research, and Jerome was not making that sign. Jerome's thumb was out, which is the symbol for "I love you" in sign language. It's when the thumb is over the middle and index finger that the sign is made.

  • @IDoWhatIWantTV Why does he show this sign? Why does he look so wicked if he shows the love symbol? The "love symbol" wa created by theosphist blind lady Helen Keller. So it's close to the satanic symbol. There are a lot of occult symbols going round this world and they have eveb floated CCM. The problem for most fans seems to be that they cannot imagine that they have been fooled by Satan which uses bands like this to deceive millio ns of Christians across the world

  • @MarkOpee1 Omg... Stop making a big deal out of it...

Was bitteschön entspricht da der Bibel? Nichts.

  • @gwfisfreakylove14 jaja. Rock N Roll = Satan.

  • @MarkOpee1 I'm sorry you feel that way. I believe in a God that allows us to worship the way we need to in order to get closer to him.

  • @kess924 Worship does not mean to use every style of music. AND: worship is a lifestyle, not (only) singing- Romans 12:1-2

  • @MarkOpee1 The bible says alot of things. "Let a woman learn quietly with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived, but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet she will be saved through childbearing—if they continue in faith and love and holiness, with self-control."

    Fuck yeah Bible.

  • @Chrizzlefizzle you critizize what you don't seem to understand...

  • holy s***. this was awsome.

  • cancer bats does a better cover

  • @labatch very good too. definitely more hardcore (watch?v=R6B-d0SKob0)

  • that was amazing! but of coarse, Switchfoot is amazing. :)

  • I honestly thought the vocals were from the original song at first. My god, this rules.

  • Best cover of this O_O. And the award goes to... SWITCHFOOT!

  • They were my first concert. AMAZING, and they really paid attention to the crowd, talked to them.

  • Ammmmmmmmmmaaaaaaaazzzzzzzzziiiiiinnnnnnnnng. Nuff said.

  • I'm so glad he didn't swear...Jon you rock man! that is the best cover ever...they did that at the concert I went to....it was fantastic.

  • u guys r awesome ive been a fan since the first album and had no idea you could do stuff like this

  • @Isaac73 Nah he replaced it with alabama 0:32

  • Thanks guys for standing to your convictions and NOT swearing!! ha, love yalls!!:) :)

  • great vocals

  • Most Amazing Cover I've Ever Seen, Nailed it

  • Fuckin nailed it!! The Beasties would be proud!

  • i bet jon's been wanting to do this song since he was little. XD

  • "Alabama thorn in my side" haha nice.

  • Hilarious!!! This is awesome!

    AmDrag

  • what is wrong with those 11 people?

  • Jon is one of te most amazing voices I've ever heard!

  • @larasoto1991 absolutely. they are all amazing musicians but jon is, well, jon. He is a one of a kind!

  • i saw them at the almost acoustic in hollywood, i lost my mind when i heard the song

  • Blasphemy. This song was made for and by the Beastie Boys.

  • 9 people missed the like button.

  • jon looks good :)

  • Comment removed

  • awesome. not as good as their regular music. but still cool. best band ever.

  • yah this is pretty damn good but comes no where near the original. The song was made by the Beastie Boys and the Beastie Boy's it shall remain........no matter how amazing any cover ever is

  • Nice version! :O

  • 1:05 - 1:16 elephants on the stage

  • Great, but the original is the best.

  • 777 Ratings:) Aha and yet.. Only 8 people were upside down at the time.

  • Switchfoot to my knowledge is the only CCM associate to have a multi-platinum record! They have success in pretty much everything. Anyone out there who knows anything about what goes into show production can readily attest these guys are pros. You should hear Jon Foreman talk guitar! He has built them even!

All that to say... to all you who are arguing if this is better or worse than the original is not the point! YOUR MISSING IT! The point is these guys are incredible at what they do!

  • I knew Switchfoot was classy enough to substitute the F word with something else! Congrats, guys! That just makes me respect you even more than I did before.

  • 1:47 John's like "Yeah, these guys right here know what's next in the song!" : D

  • Eight people have bad aim.

  • @Darknightsayni I litterally do!! haha im sorry i accidentally thumbs downed what you said but i thumbed up this song!! Lol switchfoot is one of my favorite bands and switchfoot makes this song sound way better anywayz

  • @CrazySmurf111

Dang, I was being sarcastic lol. I like switchfoot's rockier songs better than the other ones. Mess of me and bullet soul (I think it's called) are both really good.

  • @CrazySmurf111 Yeah, yeah. This song sounds better played by them than the Bboys. Sure. In your dreams maybe you moron.

  • @paulojunker Switchfoot did well, but Beasties are still the original and still better at this song.

  • @Joberooni Word! I'm not saying they didn't play well. It's a good cover. But the other guy saying Switchfoot made the song sound better was a f***ing joke.

  • THEY CAN DO ANYTHING

  • Switchfoot rocking some classic Beastie Boys!

  • i'd get up and start throwing people out of theyre chairs, start a mosh pit

  • did he play in alabama or something?

  • HOLY FREAKING YES. YEESS!!!!!! They could rock the friggin' ABCs just face it.

  • damn.. when Switchfoot does a cover they do it right

  • Haha it's funny how some people freak out cause Switchfoot decides to experiment.

  • They need to do an album of cover songs
