removing peter just leaves a gaping plothole int eh show...if alternate used peters sons dna to activate the machine on the otherside, then the observers deleted him from time after he joined the two worlds....how did walternate activate the amchine in his universe without any of peters dna...or even our side using their machine...theyve removed the onyl being that could use the machine from the plot, hence...giant gaping hole
@darthkarr I'm wondering if you've watched any of season 4. They have dealt with that subject relatively well: in a world with no Peter, the machine interfaces with no one and turned itself on (it can do that, after all: it did so when Peter and Olivia walked into the room for the first time, without him touching it).
I dont get it. If peter really hadnt existed, then walter hadnt gone over to the other side to steal him in the first place, so it wouldnt have come to this situation now :/ right?? *confused*
@blueberrynights0161 I've been thinking about it...remember when walter was trying to cross over and he had an argument with Nina? Am I dreaming or when they mentioned Bel they seemed to ignore where he was...right? Then, when they needed to come back from the other universe when they went to rescue Peter Bel told them that he was trapped in there because after crossing over for so many times, his body couldn't take it anymore? I think it was Bell who caused those problems
@HelenaSorceress I think hat when he found out that he had died long ago in the other universe, he spotted the oportunity of becoming billionaire in both universes, but during that process he found out that his crossing over caused him health problems....
Option 1: They simply erased him from existence. While he did exist, no one will remember him. Think of it like "Pretend you didn't see this." (other person responds) "Didn't see what?" proving that they won't rat them out.
Option 2: He has gone to another world/universe/can see everyone but they can't see him.
and I'm not so sure, but I think that after he got out of the machine they don't see him...he thinks that he's talking to them but I gues that Walter wasn't talking to him...one reason for that is that Olivia was so worried about him that as soon he was free from that machine she would hug him, kiss him, but she didn't...she would just stand there....maybe he looking at another possibilty....
@blueberrynights0161 yeah...I noticed that too, but maybe they're gonna give us another explanation for what seemed to be their looking at Peter...because I think we were looking through Peter's perspective and he thought they were looking at him, and so would we...OR I'm going too far in something simple, maybe he just disappeared, and I just can't take it... :(
My dad and I think that the reason why their worlds are being destroyed isn't Walter's fault, but another universe, a third one, is causing those damages...what do you think?
@HelenaSorceress omg a third universe would be awesome! that would even make sense..a third walter haha we'll just have to wait for season 4 I guess ^^ so exited!
well, the machine took Peter to the future so he could see the consequences of his choices...I guess he's still in the machine and that scene is another possibility...you know, I think that he'll be able to see what happens after every choice he makes...
Peter does exist, in the future. His conciousness was pulled there by walter, so he exists just not at the specific moment in time that we are watching. The observer says "he never existed"...... past tense. Now that the show has shown time travel is possible im guessing that'll be a theme for season 4, and when we return to the future we'll probably meet Peter there.
@ArcaneWeirdo1 I do like her as a character; I'm just worried she'll come back as a love interest for Peter. I don't like her when she's a threat to the Peter/Olivia relationship. Other than that, i.e. as a mother, a Fringe agent, a woman with intelligence and strength, a friend to Agent Francis and a love interest to Lincoln, I do like her. I guess I've got a bit of a protective instinct over the Peter/Olivia relationship which I'm worried about in Season 4.
it looks like the observers were in a third universe without the building that they put the machine in. Remember the observer in the ssn 1 finale didn't say "there's two of everything" he said "there's more than one of everything"
This was the most WTF'ingest moment in TV history that I've ever seen. If Peter never existed, then Walter wouldn't have crossed universes to kidnap him, and thus the two universes would be intact. So why are they still at war? And if Peter never existed, who controlled the Machine? And if the Machine was sent from the future, where did it come from in its original timeline? And is Joshua Jackson (Peter) not returning next season?

So, does this mean that there are only 10 observers? Or are there two more (for 12 months of the year) and they didn't show up?

I think when the observers said he didnty exist they didn't mean litterally, they just want to erase him from history.
