it truly amazes me how people devote their lives from a ancient book written by people whom we only know what they told us they were about. and from a book which is filled with contradiction and many social practices which people Pick and Choose too follow at will when it suits their lifestyle. Let God come here personally if he exists only then would a person know what God wants from them and not through a old book.

Umm whenever you try to question Catholic doctrines, do not use the Bible only for that would be a protestant approach. The RCC relies not only on the Bible for "divine revelation". These four issues that are rejected by the CHurch are rejected due to the belief that sex has two purposes: a unitive and procreative purpose that is shared between a man and woman in marriage.
In such act, the creative power of God is imitated which explains its sacredness.

Catholic church has an archaic view of the world and with the new pope has become more aggressive at imposing it on everybody. The pope dresses up as a tzar and enjoys the life of luxury while the church makes settlements with molested children out of the public eye because they don't want court judgements and publicity. Since I've become non religious, I started relying much more on myself, rather than on some external force that would supposedly help me and I'm happier now.

An average catholic couple is expected to have on average 7 - 10 children. This furthers the goal of tripling the tithing population every generation.
Blah Blah - The pilgrims (for their gigantic group) were the most well behaved guests we have had in this city. They were fun loving, high in energy, uniting (from what i saw) and didnt go around saying "are u gay" to people. Gay people purposely get their partners and make out inappropriately in front of the pilgrims to cause a stir so dont pretend they're perfect. Sydney has hosted the Mardi Gras every year for 30 years, have you criticized the event or its people once? I bet not. Wonder why..
I was simply commenting on the fact that there were incidences between pilgrims and homosexual citizens which cast an unfavourable light over the event for a lot of people. These kinds of prejudices are not isolated to this event and are present throughout the church. Also, to say that gay people holding hands and making out in the street is inappropriate is ridiculous. Do you say that a straight couple making out or holding hands in the street is inappropriate? I bet not. Wonder why...

Gay or straight people eating each others faces out in public and licking eachothers ears and cheeks IS inappropriate, i dont care what sexual orientation they are, there are rooms for that. The fact is they were purposely and exaggeratingly expressing their effection with lude acts that should be kept behind closed doors whether they be gay or straight.

BTW, the condemnation of homosexual ACTS is not only to be found in the Old Testament, but also in the New: 1 Tim 1:10, 1 Cor 6:9 and Romans 1
My favourite is Romans 1 because it is self-defeating stating non-belief as the reason for homosexuality XD

I think that those issues are so debated is because there is so little written about them in the Bible. Since there are a lot of rules in the Bible, people just go along with it cause it's easy but when something comes up that they have to decide for themselves it gets a little hairy.
