i'm a Unitarian Universalist, started attending their church though i was raised southern baptist. it is refreshing to be in a setting of believers where the emphasis is on humanitarianism and inclusion, not this arrogant hell focused religion that has usurped christ and his message.actually saying the UU church is westernized buddhism is somewhat complementary. buddha was dynamic, gentle and a proto-christ.

i'm just learning about this religion. It blows my mind how people can believe some parts of the bible about love and peace, but totally ignore the parts about God's wrath, reality of sin and hell, and that Jesus is the only way.
It is flat out rejection of the truth and rejection of the only one who can save them.
I grew up Mormon and, quite frankly, these UU's are very much like them. very very lost people. very sad.

At one time, Constantine became an Arian Christian, which would be a Unitarian today. His successors persecuted Catholics as polytheistic heretics. As an exCatholic, I find it amusing that any Protestants would call another "heretical". It brings to mind John Calvin's burning of the stake of Michael Servetus in Geneva in 1553.
Unitarianism is as American as any other religion. Each of us must seek our own path.

Bill Adams is plainly sincere in his beliefs but there is little evidence in this clip of the warmth and welcome of the God in whom he claims to have faith. I hope that people who watch this video will take the better route to understanding Unitarians and visit a congregation, engage with the people and listen to the values that Unitarians embrace.

What is "perverted, twisted, upside down" about Unitarian*Universalist thinking?
Amongst other ideals U*Us claim to "affirm and promote" -
Justice, equity and compassion in human relations;
A free and responsible search for truth and meaning;
The right of conscience and the use of the democratic process;
The goal of world community with peace, liberty, and justice for all.
I think this thinking is only "perverted, twisted, upside down" when U*Us fail or refuse to honor and uphold it.
