  • ages 15 and under? man, i thought ages 7 and under for nintendo's 3DS was bad...

  • @cooldriver66 Probably being over cautious. :P

  • Does this work with PSP ?

  • @KozyQC I don't have a PSP, however if it can connect to HDMI devices then yes it would. :)

  • $783.=+ lool

  • Does this work with PC? If yes do I need any special requirements for my PC to have this product?

  • @yazenbasil Just a HDMI port and it will work mighty fine. :)

  • Thanks for the review now I cant wait until march because I'm gonna get one

  • @MyVideogameplayer You wont be disappointed! :)

  • Great in-depth review thanks matey. Think I will wait a while I am concerned about the comfort factor and I need to think of an excuse why I would want one to then ignore the wife and kids :-)

  • @philb666 Thanks! ^_^

  • Looks promising.

    What about the sound?

I'm currently using a turle beach dolby digital 5.1 headset. Is the implemented headphone good? How does it sound?

  • @RandomDudee11 The sound is really good, but I can see there being improvements for future models. :)

  • @RandomDudee11 what about the price/? lol

  • Thanks for a great review! Been on the fence about this product but I think, after this review, I'm gonna get one! Now I just need the money. :P

  • @pyro1299 Thanks pyro!

Lets just hope you can get your hands on one soon. :)

  • LG would make a better Personal 3D Viewer then Sony and they can, Sony don't own no patten to this.

  • @dauransx It would be interesting to see what the competition would be like. ;)

  • Don't you mean 750 inch screen?

  • @Griffomedia Nope, here is a quote from a sony blog: "It’s like having a 150’’ screen only twelve feet away.".

You could compared it to a 750" screen, but the distance would be further away. :P

  • I had mine for about 2 weeks. I really want to love this thing coz the video quality is great. The only downside is how uncomfortable it is. It hurts my forehead so bad and it does get so annoying. Did you ever figure out how to make this comfortable or did any kind of mods to it? I did see that after market strap but its so expensive at $50 plus it seems like it does not fix the forehead issue since they say its to prevent it from sitting on your nose.

  • @arnoldgd84 The BEST way to increase the comfortability is to lie down on a coach/sofa, that way it slows down the pressure to the forehead, or lay down slightly on a gaming chair would help.

Sony don't have an official head strap and the ones available can be easily made by yourself, just get a bit of material and loop it around so the straps fit through it, but like you said this way doesn't stop the pressure on the forehead, so I would recommend lying down a bit......

  • @arnoldgd84 .... your head may eventually get used to it, but unfortunately apart from the things mentioned there isn't a lot you can do, Sony are aware of this problem I believe, and for the first model to come out I think it's been great, just future models they need to work on the comfortability for extended periods of use.

  • great review im sold thanks

  • @slidebed138 Thanks! :)

  • Nice review...I want one so bad.

  • @privatedonut69 Thank you. :)

Don't worry, one day these will be mass produced and cheap as chips! :P

  • Great review, glad i watched it. Question, Can this "Convert" a normal 2D image (like most 3DTv)? or does it only support "Native" 3D content? Anyway, thanks for the vid. Pre-ordering (Au) tomorrow,lol.....really i am :)

  • @Linconan It can't convert 3D into 3D I'm afraid, however, it feels like it gives a bit more depth to 2D content, although it isn't actually doing it, it's weird but awesome.

I really hope you enjoy it like I have when you finally receive it, do note to be patient when setting up the device and try all the pads so it's in focus and it's comfy to wear.

It may take a while to get it right, but when you do.... it's breathtaking. ;)

  • @MyKeyReviews

Thanks for the info and reply :)

Shame that it doesn't convert 2D to 3D :( Skyrim would've looked awesome as it does on my 3D Tv,lol ;)

But regardless, the native 3D content will look supreme being perfect 3D with no crosstalk.

This item looks perfect for me as i love my movies and games and i need some "me time" from my Wife and Kids, lol.

Thanks again for the info :)

  • @Linconan No problem. :)

  • @MyKeyReviews - Great video, very detailed. Do you know if it works with games that have head tracking?

  • @torbinzix1 Thanks!

I've seen a video where a guy uses the HMZ-T1 whilst using head-tracking software, but I'm not sure exactly what his set-up was to make it happen as the HMZ-T1 doesn't have head-tracking in built. :P

  • @MyKeyReviews - Thought so as it wasn't something they were shouting about. Many Thanks. Would have been awesome with GT5 or something else where 3D gaming wasn't an after thought.

  • Fantastic review, I flew to Japan when this was first released and there was a 2 month waiting list or I would have bought it on the spot. I'm in Turkey now and I'm going to check if I can order it from Sony tomorrow. I hope I can.. I've been excited about this for a long time, and I'm glad to see you like it as much as I did and that MW3 is a good experience with it.

I'm a super competitive player at MW3 and I wonder if this will degrade my performance...

  • @o0napalm0o Thank you! It personally made me a little bit better as everything looked bigger, making it easier for me to see things.

Just sit back and keep your head still, especially on FPS, if you move your head whilst playing it disorientates you. :P

MW3 Story with these on was like being in a whole new dimension, it was awesome. >_<!

  • best review yet..good job..

  • @regfeener Thank you! Comment really meant a lot. :)

  • Hey best review so far. Gonna subscribe.

I´m waiting for maybe a second gen of this or a price drop.

  • @skillbill83 Thank you very much! :))

  • thanks for the very fast reply, only problem is you cant use your current headphones with this headset.

  • @gcirc Yes/No, I can use the mic if I put the headset around my neck and transfer the mic audio to my viewers headphones, but then again I don't normally wear these when I'm playing with my friends online. :)

  • @mykeyreview when is the release date

  • @gcirc It's out now, but as they were in such high demand they sold out very quickly.

Currently a 2 -10 week waiting time upon order. :)

  • this shit was out in the late 80s early 90s failed not sure why

  • i will wait til the price drops, because im planning to buy a PSvita with all the needed extras... well i might not buy this device buy i want it though

  • @kabelfjernsyn Don't worry, like all the TV's, this device will also go down in price. :)

As for the vita, I can't wait! :D

  • Been waiting sins 1988 for that. I might even go back to playstation again.

  • I'm able to get battlefield 2 to play in 3d with my zalmon trimon monitor, would it be possible to get this hmd to work with that one using iz3d or tridef drivers?

  • @ElegyForTheMasses I'm presuming you're talking about the PC version, if so I cannot be sure as I thought you can only do 3D on the PC through a DVI cable via a 3D monitor. :|

  • mod it with a hat so the pressure comes off your forehead

  • @littleenglish sounds like a good plan. :)

  • Getting a model and having it do automatic head tracking for gaming would be incredible.

  • @TheIxer I'm sure they'll manage to release a model like that in the near future. :)

  • Say H right Jesus it's pissing me off

  • @maxxwell8 And do you not think it annoys me? It's the way my jaw is positioned which makes it really hard for me to pronounce some words.

  • @maxxwell8 I saw alot of English and Australian people pronounce it the letter H "HAICH" and not "A-CH"....

so it's not his pronunciation but rather the way people in those countries pronounce it...

  • i feel that is will be the future of personal t.vs, like our headphones

but i started laughing, cause our kids later on will laugh at this, like we laugh at old sony Walkman.

  • @17sTHEM17 So true. :P

  • With the help of a webcam you don't even have to take it off when you want to see something; just turn on the webcam and put on fullscreen and keep it in your hand :P

  • Lol...well I'm gunning the 2012 MacBook pro refresh which is set to be a cracker and has practicality unlike this device.

  • A shop down in Dorset are selling at £650 you know... 800 squids is steep

  • @RovexHD Probably don't have that much in stock though, was only 250 units in the UK and there is a 8 week + waiting list at the moment.

But if you can get one for £650, go for it! :)

  • damn this sounds exciting! Want to try it...

  • Is 720p engouth?

  • @BigXarlie Trust me, with these things on you will think it's 1080p. ;)

  • I thought it was 750 inches

  • @yamaha1313 It's to do with the "ratio" of how big the screen looks to a certain distance distance, I got this bit of info from a Sony blog. :)

  • @yamaha1313 It's to do with the "ratio" of how big the screen looks to a certain distance distance, I got this bit of info from a Sony blog. :)

  • U found any problem using it with glasses on?

  • @piratentim No problem at all, in fact, It's more comfy wearing this device than it is wearing the 3D glasses from the cinema. :)

  • @MyKeyReviews oh that was a nice suprise. i always dreamed about glasses like this and finaly they are here and woorking good :) But i will still wait some yeras before buying one, when the other brands also tried to make good videoglasses and its competition between them i will buy :D

  • @piratentim Give it a year or two when the price of OLED's and other electronic components go down, these headsets will be as cheap as chips!

(3DTV's when they first came out were £1200 - £3000, now you can get em for £550).

  • @MyKeyReviews yea that is very true, the futere will be very exsiting :D

    Happy new year btw :D

  • @piratentim Happy New Year!

  • Of course there is no ghosting, there are independent displays for each eye.

  • is it compatable with xbox 360?

  • @refreshment65 As long as your Xbox has a HDMI port, yes it will. :)

  • @MyKeyReviews Thanks, do you know if this is being released in australia any time soon?

  • @refreshment65 I would love to know the answer, but I'm afraid I have no idea.

Possibly middle of next year? :|

  • Damn I imagine playing Dead Space with this.

  • @myztic123 .... oh my... lets just say it's very interesting in the scary department, It's taking me awhile to have the balls to play the whole game whilst wearing this thing. :|

  • its 1400$ on ebay, should i still buy it?

  • @rivariad As much as I love this product, I would say keep an eye out on Sony's website, in about a month or so it will be available again and for $799.

But it really depends how much you want it. ^_^

  • @rivariad It's 800 on sony's website.

  • What about porn/3d porn on it? it must be awesome!

Does it really feel like you're sitting in a cinema?

I also wear glasses too like you, I have kinda bad eye sight, will this lower my eye sight power? it looks like its like really heavy on the eyes.

  • @SuperPSTutorials Haven't tried porn, but I guess it would be a pretty intense experience, just be aware of your surroundings. ;)

It's just like being at a cinema, but you have the whole screen to yourself.

When using this viewer, wear your glasses also, everything will be just fine, and it isn't heavy on the eyes, trust me. ;)

  • Where did you purchase it?

  • @RovexHD Directly from the Sony store online, as soon as it was available I purchased it, so if you keep checking, it should be available again in 8-10 weeks from now. :)

  • This is awesome :P

But it's kinda a pitty you probably have to use your controller to play.

  • @CorvetteBG It's awesome indeed. :P

  • OMG Could i play minecraft on this?!?!

  • @3dUber If your PC has an HDMI out, then yes you can! :)

  • They just need some sort of gyro system or to incorporate trackIR.

  • @DickCheneyXX I'm sure they'll do something like that in future models. :)

  • Hi mate can you remove the headphones and use speakers

  • @jasonmichaelknight You can't remove the headphones, however you can adjust them so they don't sit on your ears directly, so if you turn the volume down on the viewer and use an optical cable to transmit sound to your sound system, you can bypass this issue that way. :)

  • Why can't they make it go all around the eyes - so it's not like viewing a screen - it'd be like being in the game itself <3

  • @sa9s9r38ufmfm This is only the beginning! Although I find it amazing, future products are going to have such an improvement! We'll just have to sit back and wait for them to be developed. ;)

  • @MyKeyReviews does the image quality of a PS3 game seem way more pixelated because of the large screen? I mean the jagged edges in non anti-aliased games.

  • @SSirhc84 The actual screen is tiny, but it looks huge. (this is why they have it at 720p, because for the screen size, 720p actually looks like full HD) That said most of the times when I play a game that supports 1080p it indicates it's playing in 1080p rather than 720p which is supposedly the res it plays in, not sure why.

I haven't come across any pixelated problems so far, it looks just as it would on a full HD TV, but it's more close to your face. :)

  • have you get some trouble when wear it with your glasses, because I wear glasses too and in my country it is not available (now)

I see you can adjust eye width but how about diopter (when I want to wear it without eye glasses)

    thanks for advance.

  • @tassapon I wear them with my glasses and have no problem at all, so you shouldn't have any problem. :)

  • Hi, how is the 3D? Is the same of cinema? And is there the pop out effect(object out of the screen)?

  • @kipe00 The 3D is better than the cinema (in my opinion), and it all depends on what 3D content you are viewing. Some like to focus more on depth whereas others like to pop things out on you.

I've played Super Stardust HD and can assure you something really do pop out at you. :)

  • @MyKeyReviews have you played any of these games with this HMD?

Uncharted 3, Batman: Arkham City, Gran Turismo 5, Killzone 3.

    If so, how were they?

  • @SSirhc84 Out of those games I have played Batman Arkham City.... That has to be one of the best games to show of the 3D of the viewer, the depth is amazing and my friend found himself more immersed than before, was was desperate to play the whole game again lol. As for the others, I have yet to try them, I'm wating for my friend to bring found Gran Turismo 5 to see what that one is like. :)

  • Thanks for the review, very informative!

  • @SSirhc84 Thanks :)

  • How long is the cable? My PS3 is about 10 feet away from where I sit. Thanks :D by the way, great review!

  • @d1v4dPwnz I think the cable is about 2-3 meters from the hub to the viewer.

That said, there is also the length from the PS3 to the hub via HDMI cable, so you could always get an extended HDMI cable, and plug the hub further away? Or just get a gaming chair near the PS3 like I have ^_^.

  • This looks great... I'm going to a Sony shop and try this out if it's available. I'll buy one when it supports 1080p and noise canceling.

  • @ARRL92 It really is great!

To be honest 1080p wouldn't make a difference with the screen resolution, it looks just like a 1080p quality image would look like.

As for noise cancelling for the headphones, that feature would be great.

  • hey man that was a great review

    keep makin videos

ull be famous in no time!

  • @harshalpatilrox Cheers man that really meant a lot! :)

It's just getting my hands on products, just costs money, which is limited at the moment. :\

  • @harshalpatilrox can only agree...

  • Does it connect to Xbox aswell as well as ps3?

  • @weeeggo If your Xbox has an HDMI out, then yes. :)

  • realy good vid

  • @Unboxing4ever Thank you very much. :D

  • Does this convert 2D content into 3D? Also where did you get the HDMI splitter or where can I get one?

  • @arnoldgd84 It doesn't convert 2D into 3D, however some 2D features feel like they have some slight of depth to it, it's weird, but pretty cool.

I got my splitter from Amazon, they're around £18, but make sure you have three HDMI cables: 1 for the device, and 2 to cover both of the TV/output displays.

  • Great review. My unit in with city-link. I can't wait.

  • @funkychimp Thank you! And man.. you just wait until you get your hands on it! :)

  • out of curiosity - and i believe it's not just me - what about porn movies? there aren't many 3D titles, so all we have left is 3D gaming and 3D kamasutra..

  • @SINfromPL I haven't really searched for such titles, but I can guess it would be quite the experience. XD

Just need to be careful as you wont be aware of anyone coming into the room lol.

  • and what is a decent amount for you? :>

  • @SINfromPL Probably £1,300+ ^_^ Hehe

  • @MyKeyReviews that's the price for 2 sets i believe.. so we have a deal ;)

  • good review. thanks.

  • @a18ttc Thank you! :))

  • i'm probably fooling myself right now but.. don't you want to sell this thing? :>

i doubt i will receive mine before march, knowing how many delays this item already had..

  • @SINfromPL If I got offered a decent amount more than what I paid for it, then yes I would sell it, but as soon as I could buy one again, I would do so in a heart beat and use the extra cash to buy more 3D content! :)

Honestly, I love this device. :))

  • whats it like for immersion compared to a tv? Does you feel more connected to what you are viewing? Do you feel more immersed in the game? How does it compare to a projector?

  • @SpaceMonkeeys It's so much more immersive than a TV & projector put together, you get more into the movie and personally I felt like I had that extra emotion when seeing it, although to get the best experience I would recommend having the room your in to be darker for the best experience.

As for gaming... wow, that's an experience, be it 2D or 3D, trust me, you are really going to get in to the game more, but I would recommend laying down slightly, either on a sofa or gaming chair so you're--

  • laying still, you don't want your head to be moving when playing games, you will see why when you get one, so make sure your head is still for the best gaming experience.

It's very hard to explain what it's like, very hard indeed, if you look in the description for the link to the written review, scroll down 3/4 of the way and you will see my friends and families opinion also.

  • congratulations on receiving your unit! i can't wait to get mine, i can't even pre order it at the moment..

  • @SINfromPL Trust me, it's well worth the wait. :)

It would be nice if they had a pre-order button available, but I'm guessing they don't know how much they are making yet? The demand is so high. :S
