wow, this video really captures the feeling.....My grandpa got his license in 45 and i got mine 2 years ago, he always says the Norseman was a far better aircraft than the beaver he flew both, worked on both ( as a mechanic and AME) I hope to fly one one day.....Makes me wish I was from his generation. Thanks for the video!
Congrats on a wonderful video/short. We spend a couple weeks outside Red Lake each year and this video keeps us coming back after a cold winter. Thanks Harriet.
Great Video...Want to see more of Red Lake Ontario go to the group "Red Lake On The National News" on Facebook, lots of history and photos to be shared.
Boy, was it really seven minutes and a half? I hit the play button and couldn´t move a single muscle til it was over. I don´t know if you got any award at that contest, but you sure shoudn´t care. That was one of the most captivating pieces of art I´ve seen in a while.
Maybe I´m too much of a bush flying and radials lover; maybe it was the music; maybe it was the memories; maybe the prospect of re-living them; the fact that I was actually living them by watching it... Whatever it was, thanks!
The Norseman has a special place in my heart. It takes me back to my childhood, when we flew in the Norseman from Minaki to our then new place out in the bush for Christmass. It must have been in 1972 or 73. I also flying out moose hunting with my dad and guests in the norseman. Man we used to fly soooo overloaded! Thanks for this film! Gerhard Gehrmann jr.
Hey, Hugh, fantastic!!!!!!!!!! Wish I could have flown with you on this. Brings back wonderful memories of beautiful country and good people. And a great job of filming.

Great video. Great plane. I was flown into Moose Factory in 1954 on CF-BSC as a two month old. Old photos come alive with these videos. Thank-you

I have lived here for 15 years, and I have never flew in a Norseman. Hope the day comes.
Larry Morton, in the beginning?

Yep, that's Larry Morden at the beginning with the dogs in the truck.
If you are around for Norseman Days, they have Norseman rides available at the Government Docks!
Thanks!

Lovely film & soundtrack.
Is that handcrank being wound in the ceiling to extend - retract the flaps?

Music that covers up the sound of a radial engine is a sin - nice job otherwise

We couldn't get a good sound recording in the aircraft. You'll have to use your imagination. Thanks for the comment.
