  • thankssss, glad the fish was great 4 ya

  • I made this rice last night with your bbq chicken, I didnt measure the water right cause I was trying to figure out what glass to use that looked like yours. I overcooked the rice a little next time I'll cook 25mins,but guess what it was so good I was not disappointed at all cause we ate the leftover rice the next morning. I just wanted the rice to look like yours mine was kinda mushy but good.Very easy2 make will definatly make again!

  • OMG Im soo happy for u, ok soo heres a tip dont worry about tryign to make it look like mine, all you have to do is pick a cup in your cupboard and use that cup to measure the amt of rice u want, then use that same cup to measure ur water, 2 cups water for every 1 cup rice, doesnt matter actualy cup size, i messed uo when i learned to cook rice also urll get it tho, im happy for u

  • Gyrlll you been jammin in the kitchen all day long and I aint mad @U cause you are helpin me alot you just dont know. We are gettin tired of the regular stuff week after week but I ain complainin' cause all food(repeats or not)is a blessin'. Soon as my husband gets off punishment I will be makin' this fye hook-up!!!! Thanx!!!

  • GIRRRLLL!!! This recipe is the bomb!!!! I am a Yankee (LOL) but I made this with no problem...My 10 year old even liked it. THANKS!!!!!!

  • whaat?? check you out Im happy for you , you are showing ppl you dont have to be jam to make good jam food

  • OMG Thank You, I love rice and peas. I dated a man (Jamaican) for many years and every friday his Mom would make me rice and peas (that was over 15 years ago). Now I can make it myself. Thank you

  • ....Shoot, thinking about it now, I wanna go back and lick the pan I cooked it in! lol! But I'll refrain! Just had to come on here and give you your much deserved props! Big up!

  • Girrrrrrrrrl!! I had to come back and teeeeeell you that it was the BOMB DIGGITY!! lol!

I made the rice and peas and your Sweet Baked Salmon with Provolone from the tutorial you did back in the day. Girl, that Salmon was SOO good!! I'm talking about LICKING THE PLATE GOOD!!! lol! The only variation was that I used Mozzeralla cheese instead and cooked it on the stove top in stead of the oven....

  • can u do this in a rice cooker? i hate cooking rice on a stove, i always forget about it and burn it.

  • Yes you can. I use a rice cooker. I love my rice cooker :)

  • Girl, I made this recipe today. I had coconut cream in my cabinet but I never cooked with it. Your recipe is wonderful. It's amazing what the cream does to the rice. It taste like cheese is on it but it's not. I mad because you didn't tell us about the salted pork, girl it's crazy what the salted pork does to it. I used two pieces of cooked bacon and used the grease from the bacon and added it to the rice OMG what flavor I'm hooked. Thank so much for posting. Can't until the next recipe!

  • lol yea i kno some ppl do that but my family doesn eat pork tho so the bacon never gets added, and even if we added turkey bacon still isnt same taste as bacon bacon :) glad urs cameout yummy tho

  • Great tutorial. You made it all so simple!!!

  • Great video girl!! I'm gonna make this tomorrow, although I don't think I have any country pepper. I'm not with soaking beans either, people who don't have things to do have time for all of that.

Did I say great video already? lol! Thanks for posting this =]

  • thanks and thanks for the feedback :)

  • yummy..you're right everybodys is a little different but the ingrendiants are basically the same. Yours is much easier for people who don't want to have to soak the raw beans overngiht. Another thing...Girl your hair grows soooooo fast!!!

  • ur such a wonderful young lady...ppl take note!!

  • thanxss

  • Please in the future, use fresh ingredients. Soak peas over night, grate some fresh coconut and squeeze out the moisture. When you use fresh herbs and spices the flavour of the food makes it worth the effort. We Jamaicans (and others) are giving up too much of what makes our food so delicious for the sake of expediency. Lets slow down and savour the moment. Bring back the art of cooking to our food. No more instant. Please.

  • Agreed! I gasped when I saw the "can" of beans!

  • READ COMMENT ABOVE I RESPONDED TO U AND kwacou !

  • yea get in my life and then try and say that i hardly have time to cook much less spend the time doing the artistic way no offense but i save slow cooking for holidays. THis isnt JAMAICA, jam lifestyle moves ate slower pace aAMERICA moves fast so u gotta keep up, im full time student, work 40-56 hrs a week, and have a husband so i do thisng at the pace ans best ability for me ! to each their own !

  • Sorry if I offended but, I feel we are losing something intangible and once lost it will be very hard to retrieve (Our Culture). Many of your viewers are not Jamaican/Caribbean and may have a misperception that our culture is fast food. We need to become more like the French who keep tradition even when faced with the pace of the modern world.I understand time I lived in New York but I also learned how important it is to give the body the freshest ingredients to maintain health.Food's medicine.

  • Thanks for showing this this is one of my favortie..

  • Question...I usually use the cream coconut, the kind you chop up and melt in the liquid. How do you feel about this product? And, what are your feelings on the "liquid" in the canned beans, some people say to not eat that, what do you think?

  • ive never used that but lots of ppl use it and it turns out yummy, so ur fine...the liquid i dunno back in day ppl use to say stuff bout it but ive been eating it that way for yrs and doesnt do anything tho, so i think its ok, dont quote me tho

  • I have kidney beans soaking on my counter for dinner tommorow.

I love watching your cooking vids, I would watch you cook shoe leather, lol. ;p

  • aaaw thanxx

  • Can I plllleeease come over for dinner?!?!!!! :)

  • && what kind of pepper was dat?

  • Scotch Bonnet Pepper, also known as Habanero Peppr

  • This is the exact same way I make my rice and peas,,, You Go Girl (this is the way my sister taught me)
