That year 1993... I held up my portable cassette player to the television on the VHS tape I had recorded at a friend's house. And in a small ceramic studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico Melissa's voice rang out with this song. I still have that cassette somewhere, worn almost thin. Of all the music from Betty to Patti Austin to Toshi Regan... Melissa's voice stood out and echoed on walls that were once an army barrack, a place to house the insane and a Japanese-American inment camp.
