  • Saw Mickey Mantle in 1958 at Yankee Stadium and have to tell you all, as a nine year old,

it was my first visit to a major league ball park, Mantle, number 7, was electrifying. It was a day game, probably no more than 25,000 fans but this guy rocked! Saw him many more times

thereafter. Great part about NYC at the time, the kids, ages 7-15, used to go to the games

with friends and no parents, it cost two bucks to get in and guys like Mantle, Maris, Ford

and Berra were our idles. peace-

  • I love Mickey Mantle from the first time I saw him on teevee, when I was in the john sitting on the toilet with a bad case of diarrhea. He brings back lots of memories, especially the salami sandwich I ate back when i had that, you know, diarrhea.
