  • good band fucking awful and pretentious band name though

  • @confinedspace2006 I don't think it's pretentious. I think it's awesome that they named it after a cheat for Sonic the Hedgehog. That might be because I was a huge Sonic fan growing up though

  • If want a similiar sounding band Try Caspian ...

Caspian - Some are White Lights

    /watch?v=BqStY5pVOZw

  • Why are they acting like they are playing metal

  • @Sof7ware because they can

  • whoa, never seen a bass played with a bow

  • UUDDLRLRBAS ought to be pissed at these little thieves. I know I am.

  • @allyouhavetolose Thieves? This band have been going since 2000.

  • @mousenatorx Actually, it says on their website that they've been around since 2001. UUDD released their first CD in 2000. Pretty sure that's before 2001, last time I checked.

  • @allyouhavetolose No, it says they released their first record in 2001. They played their first show on New Year's Eve, 1999. Anyway, what difference does it make. It's just a coincidence.

  • @markrochman Believe me, they used a bass and cello bow on the record.

  • recently i tried with a cello bow, it sounds good maybe like GY BE!

  • i'm in Asia ...really want to support their CDs

but here there's no any stuff of theirs

    ...what should i do?

  • @HondaDoraeMon contact them through their website. Google search 'upcdownc', click the top option and that's their website. It has the contact details on there.

  • bass being played like a cello? is it possible?

  • @thosefleetingwaves I read Sigur Rós had tried this after doing the same with the guitar, but it didn't sound well.

  • @thosefleetingwaves i tried it with my violin bow. doesn't work. I think they just recorded cello/double bass

  • Tiny room , tap n tin , the end bit makes you wanna pee. i just got memories of being 17 and very impressionable

  • disposição natural

  • This is true. They share A LOT of similarites with EITS in this song. Not a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination, though.

    Fantastic track.

  • they sound like explosions in the sky.

  • what do you mean wanker?

  • Comment removed

  • yeah but this band are actually good, explosions in the sky can suck my balls.

  • you're so damn right

  • so sick of everyone comparing every fucking post rock band to EITS. They actually sound like Up-c Down-c. Go explore some music and then you won't have to use EITS every time you hear post. Sure, there are some similar qualities, but these guys don't sound like explosions.

  • so sick of people getting their panties twisted in their va jay jay.

  • :) nice one.

  • agreed, also because Explosion in the Sky are way worse

  • @mjsinclair And EITS aren't even the best examples of the genre.

  • @AndyUnwritten Explosions in the sky are more noise orient.

  • Their name is based on a cheat for Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Mega Drive.

  • knowing that makes this band even cooler. thanks for the facts

  • omg! i only just realised tht! sweet!

  • Thing is this video cant be real, if it went dark in real life all the band would wet themselfs, ecspecially chris Garth!!!

    still, good song

  • I really hope this isn't an "unreleased" song of theirs and will be on Embers. I absolutely love it. I can't wait to get Embers!

  • What an amazing video & an amazing band.

  • i remember seing these guys back when they were called Autopilot and i thought they were a bit crap and trying too hard to be weird. They've definately improved since then. Seven or so years does teach you a lot of things. i was only into rap-metal and pop-punk back then so i guess we all change and progress a bit. their name reminds me of entering cheats on an N64 pad except n64 pads don't have a c button so it also makes me think of sega meagadrive controllers. happy Oasthouse gig memories.

  • N64 has 4 c buttons, CHEESEWHIZ. up c down c right c and left c. count em 1-2-3-4

  • of course i'm aware the n64 pad has 4 c buttons, but it doesn't have an actual button called c. it instead has up c, down c, left c and right c. where as a megadrive pad just has one c button. hence the start of the name reminds me of an n64 pad, but the end makes me think of a megadrive pad because of the ABC buttons.

  • New stuff, hallelujah!

  • Up c down c left c right c abc + start sounds incredible! But the name wont help them, I think...

  • I must admit, their name did intimdate me because of how long it was, but atleast for short they still settle with UpCDownC. I just hope they get more nods to their music, they're incredible.

  • Great video! :D Like the song too.
