In the forest they are kings... forced out of the forest, they are just poor farmers on the bottom rung of the society they have been 'welcomed into'. It's a tragedy. Let people live how they wish to live... no way of living is 'better'.

the young boy at the end was so endearing. it's amazing the appreciation people have for the smallest things when they're accustomed to having nothing. People could learn so much if they'd let go of ignorance, and open their eyes to the plight of those around the world.

The tears came out of my eyes while watching this video especially at the end when the young boy is so optimistic and has a dream to develop his country as president. It is sad when we are so idiot to understant the problem of this defavoured social layer.

what was the civil war about and when did these people become regarded by their own people as subhuman and where did this concept emerge from. that is so interesting. they have been around so long and all of a sudden they are hunted down and eaten.we have to question the birth of such mentality.

Genocide

During the Congo Civil War, Pygmies were hunted down like game animals and eaten. Both sides of the war regarded them as "subhuman" and some say their flesh can confer magical powers. UN human rights activists reported in 2003 that rebels had carried out acts of cannibalism. Sinafasi Makelo, a representative of Mbuti pygmies, has asked the UN Security Council to recognise cannibalism as a crime against humanity and an act of genocide.

interesting in our local languages in south africa the khoisan are called abathwa in Zulu,Xhosa,And othr related languages. In seTswana and seSotho they are called barwa. This is a turn of history because those who wrote it never knew it from an African perspective.
