Fr cryin' out loud, guys! It's a cartoon ad about vacuum tubes. It's not a manual for a nuclear power plant. Relax. Enjoy the goofy fashion statement and ignore the various technical howlers...
There is something warming about these old vacuum tubes - I have an old '59 Tefi radio with Telefunken tubes installed. It sounds lovely, far better than this DAB junk we have now...
The TELEFUNKEN tubes in my classic 1960's FISHER 500B receiver / amplifier sound beyond incredible! I am amazed at the longevity of these fantastic, highly musical tubes. It is no coincidence that even today, German TELEFUNKEN tubes are considered the best in audiophile circles! They are highly coveted and desirable in building high end audio amps!
@sophiegromit Indeed, Telefunken tubes were in the most high quality tubes in Europe. Other brands I remember were Tungsram (which was Hungarian I suppose), Philips, Svetlana and Eimac. RCA and Philco were not known much to Europe, but Eimac was. What a pity that the tube sectors of these brands almost shut down.
"What a pity that the tube sectors of these brands almost shut down."
Unfortunately, this is what happens with perceived progress with solid state.
Of course, do note the use of the word "perceived." It's not necessarily progress, but that's how things were perceived as solid state amplification gained prominence.
IMO, solid state has its attributes while valves have theirs. They're different, not necessarily better or worse; it depends on your tastes and intentions.
Toller Werbeclip!
even more perplexing: how did the sound wave information (the round faced stick figure) begin traveling on radio waves through clouds without going through the RF output amplifier and transmatch first? hmmm
@LordKelvin100 i dont know but the fogot to kick out the tuning eye valve, those large octal valves dont even have the same number of pins as those miniture ones
Sry, I didn't notice you were american, so I answer in your native language. AD1 was very powerful back when it was manufactured. 15W Pa-max was sufficient for most applications. Especially with very efficient Fullrange speakers. PL519 in pseudeotriode is nice, but has high distortion and gives therefore triode like sound. Seems you're a real dumbass (to continue the tradition of swearing at each other at the end of the comment, you prick)

Seems that I can't post links here but if anyone is interested in old HIFI-catalogues of all international brands then typen in "wega funpic" at google and follow the links. The catalogues are in German but you can watch a lot of pictures.
I'm glad those good Telefunken radio tubes kicked out the bad-quality ones that abused that poor little musical note and made her cry.
And it's very ironic that the shiny black tubes are playing "American Patrol", a patriotic World War II American song from when the USA was fighting Germany.
World War II is over. Stop cowering in fear, I don't think anyone from Germany is out to get you. I wonder if you still think there's monsters underneath the bed. German-made electronics are QUALITY. And maybe the next time you get an X-ray, CAT scan, or MRI..Siemens, a German company, makes medical imaging equipment and a lot of hospitals use their equipment!
I agree. I wonder if any of the people arguing in this post remember that analog/magnetic tape recording was pioneered in Germany in the 30s. So, would they just like us to automatically disregard anything recorded to tape because it is a result of German engineering during that period?
One of those German machines was brought to America by a man named Jack Mullen(?) who in turn showed it and demonstrated it for Bing Crosby. Crosby was impressed enough by the sound that he wanted to use magnetic tape to pre-record his radio show. ABC Radio did not like the idea at first, but AMPEX Corporation started mass-producing tape recorders and radio stations started using them.
Some of the greatest technical inventions have come out of wartime, whether people acknowledge that or not.
Telefunken & Siemens was born BEFORE the bad times of the II world war. This nice commercial video was done in the 50's: Remember that TFK was, with Philips and Fivre and many others EUR Radiofactories, protagonist of the Europe Reinassance.
