I use Linux Ubuntu , and Linux Mint ... Most Linux distributions are free... Or people can use OpenSolaris, PC_BSD , Plan9 OS, Minix, or any of the 100's of free Windows , and Mac free alternative OS...

Most of my friends who own PCs only use it for gaming via Steam, but now Steam is coming to Mac so I bet there's gonna be some big changes. Especially with Macs having better software at standard than an expensive upgraded Windows which equals about the same... Just my opinion

I can Pre-Program Ubuntu/Linux/Unix and put the Pre-Programmed one on CD-R. It runs a higher percentage of Windows stuff than people think. If you don't keep Ubuntu/Linux/Unix pre-programmed, of course you'll run into problems.

As For Apple:

Windows Requires 15GigaByte, just to function.

MacOSX Requires 5GigaByte, impressive when compared to Ubuntu. Mac doesn't install junk on their system either.

Whoever developed Win 7 and Vista, suck at updating and improving OS's.

Windows is a resource hog and MacOSX has gotten efficient.

But, Linux is the most secure, for very good reasons.

Depends what you mean by games. I never use Windows for Hardcore Gaming (if that's what you mean), so Windows is pointless.

Linux/Unix are a bunch of free OS's. And Mac uses something similar to Unix, called Darwin.
