Not sure where to post it, but I have the everio hd300au and imovie on MAC. the only thing I had to do is select "back up" on the camera menu screen when plugged into power and usb. make sure your power is plugged in. Then it copied the video straight over to imovie.
Thanks for posting. The file formats are different depending on the camera used. Some are very compatible with final cut and imovie while others are not. It's good to see that your camera works with it, this will serve as a review for those researching your camera.
