Amruta has actually sung this beautiful. She has a sweet voice.

Shankar is very accomplished. He is already a legend at 40+.

If Asha Tai, Maha Vidushi Lata Tai, Pt. Mangeshkar, Pt. Wadkar have already certified Shankar and welcomed him to the elite club.

You should see the songs of Shrinivas Khale that Shankar sang. Each song is brilliantly composed, difficult to sing.

Every one has an opinion, I agree. Well! she is not "that" bad. She has an earthy and a husky voice, that makes one feel, as a falsetto voice. She was the finalist in maharashtracha aajcha awaaz. Shri Hridaynath Mangeshkar and Suresh Wadkar had given her excellent advice on those episodes, if you got a chance to see program. Anyway, ti cha awaaz falsetto nahin. Bollywood madhye barech falsetto singers aahet aani tyanna loka dokyavar basavtat.

Like you said, "Every one has an opinion". I have watched all of the "maharashtracha aajcha awaaz" episodes, & for some reason Amruta failed to impress me. Please do not get me wrong, Amruta has the right attitude and ambition, even knowledge maybe, but lacks riyaaz. At times I could feel that she understands the mechanics, but it was just not coming out in her voice/singing. Just MHO.

Please note 3 thumbs-down to my one line comment. Anyway - Bappi Lahiri might have given some popular songs in Sharabi, does that mean he is a great composer as SD Burman? I guess that would explain my position. Be a song of devotional genre or romantic genre, the loudness of this class of music flows abundantly. Of course, India has democracy reflected in the "poor comments"!

Trust me, I feel your pain. As for me, I have conditioned my brain/ears to enjoy this music, under the pretext of "progressive music". I honestly enjoy the beat and the lively nature of these songs and do not think too much about the lyrics and other technicalities. Thank you ravysaraf, for satisfying my curiousity.
