It's hard for European Reiners to compete with you guys in the US any way.
Comparing Rudi with Andrea is like comparing country music with Austrian folk music. Two totally different riders but both good in what they do. But i still must say that Shawn Flarida is the best in the sport. He really shows his horses great.
I'm just an amateur from Holland and reining isn't that big here. But trust me , the dutch will rein more and better than now. Greeting from the Netherlands You all
@jcfpiet @ shawn... there is a big difference in a reining score and a shawn flarida score. you can ask anyone in the us and they will tell u. most of the time yes, shawn does have the best horse but no the score are usually outragious. i have also seen much much better rides from other people competeing against shawn but shawn will win. i ride with matt flarida shawns nephew and ive talked to shawn personally and he agrees and jokes about it to... reining is politics and name most of the time.
@theman66666666666 i agree to you, and thats kinda sas i guess. i've been to the WEG in kentucky this year and what you could see clearly was that shawn or other big names like tim mcquay simply didnt have to fight as much for their scores. shawn is definitely at the top right now, no doubt.. but personally, i dont think that neither of tims runs were as good as the scores were. actually there was this german guy with hot smokin chex, just as well as rudi that were ahead of tim from my POV.
#reindan21 you're right! Rudi is a great horseman trainer and shower, but in de USA he would be a complete different rider than he is in Europe. They're both great riders and I think there are little riders who can mach with them!
yall are crazy to even think that rudi is even close to fappani rudi is good over seas but couldnt compete in the usa who cares what they scored two completly different shows under different judges rudi might make the finals at major aged events but thats it
I think, that ride of Rudi Kronsteiner ans Star Spangled Whiz is much more better than this, this horse, do'nt want stay in centre of the arena and the ride is miserable!!! Rudi is better rider than Andrea Fappani!
fyi, there are 5 judges... drop the lowest and highest score and add the remaining 3... so shows how much you know... 5 NRHA judges were very fair... i was there!
i agree, if the horse cant do the menuvers well enough it does not matter how good the rider is but the rider does help get the best out of that horse
Andrea Fappani is an AMAZING rider and a super nice man. I got to meet him at Scottsdale like two years ago, he is one of the best riders right now. He is Awesome.
That was a great run. Very smooth and I love to see that you did not have to pull on his mouth to do the sliding stop. Really well trained horse. NICE!
This is an awe-inspiring run. Everyone who reins should aspire to a run like this...although no one could ever duplicate this run. Congratulations and keep riding...
true but not everyone can afford a horse like this and there arent too many out there. i have seen better runs though. i dont rein but i have a reining trainer who trains my all around horse and i get reining lessons every now and then. one fine day i will be able to afford a nice horse, there is one that i really want but i dont think he is for sale and if he is, the price is far too great.
gee, you don't rein, but you can criticize the very best in the world. i wonder what you could accomplish if you dropped the chip on your shoulder and worked hard and took risks and made the most of every opportunity, like Andrea did. you won't get anywhere making excuses.
actually, i am getting more into reining now that my horse is crippled but i will be getting more reining lessons. riding a reining horse uses the same principles as riding any horse competitively. i could probably accomplish alot, anyone can that has experience and knows how to really ride if they have the determination and skill. i wasnt making excuses, and since money doesnt grow on trees money is a huge factor.
Money is no substitute for skill. So do the best with what you have, and opportunities will come along. Focus on what you have, not what you don't have. Anyway, I don't mean to sound preachy. I've been in your shoes, and I know it is tough. Hang in there.
hopefully i will get the opportunity to show one of the horses at my trainers when he trusts me enough. i know exactly what i do and dont have also what i cant have. actually i dont mean to sound rude but you really have no idea of my situation. your right it is tough, i have never had a horse that i can just sit there and will be perfect, i have never been a passenger. always having to hold the horse the way it is supposed to be...and too much else that i really dont feel like typing
I am not looking to pick a fight with you. You just sound kind of miserable and I was trying to encourage you. Sorry to have bothered you. BTW, I thought Andrea's run was one of the best I've ever seen. And he did it with his right arm strapped to his side - he broke his shoulder a few days before the event.
well its not every day you find out your horse has cysts on the back of her navicular bones that could have possibly damaged the deep flexor tendon. and now she is basically useless, except for maybe breeding. you only need one arm to ride anyway. have you seen stacy westfalls congress run? now that is the best. i have seen one of the 2yr olds at my trainers stop a little better than this horse with no slide plates on. that was insane!
i only know his barn name and i do not give out my trainers name on the net, espically not on a public place. tis a nice horse but idk what his breeding is like.
actually my trainer is the best one anyone in their right mind will ever hear of. unfortuantely you are not conducting yourself too terribly well either and hes a professional. i just love how you come off as a know it all, seriously no one knows it all so dont flatter yourself
as i said before, i dont give out my trainer's name on the internet, espically not on a public forum and to people i have no clue who they are. and like i also said before, i only know his barn name.
eventhough money does play a huge factor, i am a college student with no money and a ton of student loans, but because my passion is reining....i'm over coming everything in order to follow what i love....so yeah...money does play a part, but if you really love something....you can over come anything in the world....
i also know alot about reining, and have learned alot about everything in the past year i have been with my amazing trainer. i wasnt saying as a negative to andrea, i was simply stating that this run can be bested although money is a factor, so dont go jumping all over what i said like it was some kind of insult

Personally I like this horse, better than Spooks Gotta Gun and Tinsel Jac. However, I will say that tinsel Jac has better spins.
