You COULD skip it without glitching, but you have to do the Wutai side quest. So there are actually 2 ways to skip it. This is just the cheaper way.

You dumbass it swiched screen because the first screen was showing HOW to fight them and the second screen was showing hwo to AVOID them. Jackass.

You only get that option if you did the Wutai sidequest, else you have to fight them.
And in a speed run (my vids are all speedrun related) we obviously don't have time to do any sidequests.

I recently did a speed run myself, but couldn't figure out why I didn't get the option of avoiding this fight. Now I know. Thanks for the info!
