I first cut the hair with scissors until it achived the length I wanted. Then I had to create layers so it wasn't so jagged. I did that using shears. Then I finger combed it so it would look natural.

After all of that I played around just snipping off stray pieces until I came up with this look. Its easy because the hair afro's up after finger combing it.
