You have to be one of the most adorable little guys that have ever touched that organ. You went for the gusto; mixtures , reeds state trumpets! I am impressed.
@mrstevecbournias- thank you so much! When I was at St John the Divine, I had to use full organ. The big 32' Contre Bombarde to the loud and stunning State Trumpets on 50" of Pressure. It is a #1 rated organ in the world.
I really want to learn how to play hymns on the organ. I'm a pianist and my piano teacher says I'm early advanced. Would piano skills be useful in the organ?
@hortulanus94 - Oh my gosh yes, piano is the base and foundation to play organ and be an advanced pianist. Church Hymns are not that hard to learn unless it has 5 sharp or 5 flats, but I play them all the time and they only take about half and hour to an hour to master one hymn but for a early advanced maybe about 30 mins. Good Luck!
Love watching you play that amazing instrument- many years ago I would do lighting for concerts and performances in the Cathedral and it was so cool working around the organist rehearsing for services. (I think my favorite 'tour' was a climb up through the pipes with one of the technicians) Hope you get to return soon. I have to ask- which of the 'big four' is your favorite?
Bruce Neswick is a wonderful indivdual. He takes the time to along this young man to play this great ORGAN. He was not even selfish about it! May God multiply people like Brue Neswick to his glory. Thank ya Bruce!
Bro, you are fantastic! Keep playing. It is so nice to see younger people into organ. I'm 18 and know only one other person close to my age who plays organ. If you are ever in South Florida stop by Coral Ridge Pres. That's where I grew up and came to love organ. They have a pretty neat 117 rank Rufatti ;)
That man there is Bruce Neswick :3 I know because, my church went all the way to NYC, from London, to sing there :D (and yes a church, not a cathedral :D )
Hi Sam, How long have you been praying organ & how old are you? it sounds amazing! Did you learn piano before the organ? I'm starting to learn & study organ. I kinda skipped piano for now, for me, I think it's easier learning music on the organ just because the use of legato playing. i guess it just came to me naturally. thoughts? Tips? your doing a great job, keep up the good work, you could be the next male *Diane Bish* God Bless
@jdp199313 - I have been playing the pipe organ for about a 1 1/2 years, and I am 13 years old, but in the video I am 12. Yes, I did learn the piano and have been playing the piano since I was in 1st grade, since 2005. I can't stress this enough, almost all organists and professional organists say you should I basic piano playing. You could get away with only an organ background, but my advice is to have at least a year or two of piano playing. I wish you the best of organ playing!
@organflick - I did enjoy the rest of my trip thanks for asking. I got to go to St Patricks, St Thomas, St Bart's, and Riverside Church when I was in NYC. I met the organist at St Thomas and everyone was so busy due to Holy Week and rehersals. But overall I had an excellent time.
Again I say rejoice! What talent and poise! What a monster instrument! What acoustics! I am green with envy. Oh, for a Thousand Tongues... Sorry, I cannot control the one Iv'e got! 5 stars!
You play well, and I'm sure that was very exciting for you to have played G. Donald's masterpiece. Greatly enjoyed this. Good for you!

Well done bud! I'm an organist too, and Rejoice the Lord is King is one of my favorite hymns to play.
Keep up the good work!
