Im no expert (by any means), but its alot easier to explain to people that this is an Kalashnikov based shotgun than a saiga. People just grasp it easier. @GunWebsites If I remember correctly, GunWebsites it correct. While COMMERCIALLY it is called the saiga, and it is produced in the US. It is technically classified an AK-47 because it is built on an AK-47 stamped receiver. According to BATFE, the lower receiver is the only piece considered the firearm, and so, if the lower is that of an AK, then it is an AK. All the other parts are considered in a way, "conversion parts" to let it fire a 12 guage.

Nevertheless, perhaps this was more a video for those who never knew the Saiga existed and only knew of the AA-12 from call of duty MW2.

Just a guess (maybe someone can correct me) It was explained to me that the different variations (ak47, 74, 12, 20, .410,ect) were the same "lower" (the lower parts, not separate tho) are the same, while the parts to chamber the rounds are different.Still Kalashikov platform. It doesnt really matter

Its almost like an urban legend O.o Nevertheless, before COD, there were still some people spouting nonsense. Unless you completely redid the chamber, barrel, and etc, it is a Saiga, or a Chinese clone of the Saiga.
