  • This almost gives me an anatomical reaction. ... but I'll try to keep the comments classy.

    BEAUTIFUL!

  • You have to admit that its pretty awesome having guys like Richard Branson in the world!

  • @cognoscenti2011 this plane is dangerous , people gonna die one day : first , the main engine is inside the plane body , secondly it is close to the flaps controls . so , if the engine blow out or catch a severe fire , the plane will be destroyed killing the passenger . in the case the plane isn't destroyed , the explosion blast will destroy the flaps and the plane won't be controllable and will crash

  • @tunkunrunk says the random 13-year old in his mom's basement. They are making history while you sit around diddling your cat.

  • @savemyplaylist you have to admit that cognoscenti2011 does have a point, all new breakthroughs do come at a risk and in fact the space craft does look a little too flimsy, i don't know, and certainly no one knows what will happen in the future, hopefully no accidents occur with such a groundbreaking achievement.

  • @savemyplaylist Who has a lot more rational argument then the random moron talking about diddling cats.

  • @thehindmost88 So some schlep who hasn't done a thing in his entire life is criticizing rocket scientists who are actually building flyable devices. Do you subhuman shits really think the scientists who built a usable aircraft don't know about safety specifications? Are you fuck ups really that dense? Go back to your basement and toy around with your dog you sick fuck.

  • @savemyplaylist This schlep has actually done alot in his life, most of which is READING about shit these rocket scientists are doing. And if said schlep labeling nincompoop actually did some reading instead of ranting inanely on youtube, he would understand this 'schlep' was actually talking about a real rocket technology being developed that could more then HALF the travel time to Mars, and in making said joke about being nuts enough to ride in something not safe (YET), was

  • @thehindmost88 also commenting on what will be soon possible. Which is exactly that, a much smaller plane capable of reaching orbit than is necessary with current rocket technology. Ass clown.

  • One would think if its going to ever reach LEO (or at least x4 times higher than any Virgin Galactic vehicle has gone before) that it would need to be x4 larger. Thus, they may have to have another vehicle besides white night II?

  • @ti994apc If people were nuts enough to ride up on a plasma jet I think they could do it with something that small.

  • telescope to get that video?

  • i find this easy to masterbait too

  • @mitchmatch44 Well you are just a sick, sick person. Ever eaten kitten ? I have.

  • Best cameraman in the world!

  • Wow! Amazing how stable this beautiful craft is. It can essentially fold in half without tumbling end over end. It dropped at 15,500 fpm in feathered mode according to Scaled Composites' Website. Go SpaceShipTwo !

  • @Gregster138 The oscillation concerns me, however.

  • Many say that this isn't a big step foward because the space plane doesn't reach orbit. This plane was not designed to revolutionize LEO transit, it was designed to create a entire new industry that will ultimitely make space avaliable to all middle class people. Spaceship 2 isn't going to change the world on it's own. But it's successors certanly will. We don't know where this journey will end, but all that matters is that wer'e moving foward. Into the solar system and beyond.

  • @StickGuitarMan they do go the space right? you do still experience zero g right?

  • @StickGuitarMan - Hopefully not just middle class people.

  • Everything is going so well, I really hope that the Suborbital flights will have a commercial ´sucess so they can develop their Orbital spaceplane, Space is finally being opened to the public. After the possible sucess of the Orbital flights they will probably make space hotels and after that moon flights and moon hotels, it's crazy, but it is possible. Virgin Galactic is finally doing something unlike others who promised this decades ago..

  • The engine seems more quieter than I thought. Nicely done Virgin!

  • а нахрена он сгибаеться???

  • Does NASA have any thing like this on the drawing board?

  • The landing looks so smooth and perfect everytime.Awesome.

  • that sound at the end, its sounded it so nice just brrmmmmm

  • @Grumbel are you saying this spaceship is lacking the propulsion to break out of the earths atmosphere?

  • look its Enterprise. beem me up scotty

  • I have to ask how much, so I can't afford it.

  • When i watched the SpaceShipTwo Land, i was like, wait prop noises? What the hell!

  • @TheAsimoKid It´s the chase plane (seen on the left of the video when the SpaceShipTwo is on short final).

  • @TheAsimoKid chase plane

  • that test pilot probably coated the inside of that feathered plane with his breakfast.

  • I don't know...I mean it still looks like it takes way too much guts to get to and from space with all the risky things you have too do. It seems like it could be alot safer if it were a slower trip. If it was slower on the way up and coming back down too.

If only 1 tiny thing goes wrong on the way up - you would have to come right back down - and landing with no power means you only have 1 chance.

    Too risky.

  • @mrnewagemotor All NASA shuttles landed with no power. So it's not that risky...

  • waaaaaaaaaaaa :D

  • Now what is the feather thing?

  • @78720 When coming down from space, the plane decends vertically but feathers to increase the friction a bit. I think.

  • that looked weird when it feathered i was like Sh.....t so does this just give you the feeling of weightlessness or actually take you to space?

  • @jamiehasnomercy You actually go to space

  • @jamiehasnomercy The ship is supposed to fly into space, but it only really just scratches it before it then falls back down again, it doesn't have enough power to actually go into orbit, so its mostly just about having a few minutes of weightlessness and a nice view on earth.

  • @grumbel45 I disagree till the fact that I think your a fool. (sorry to insult)

I gasped at 1:60 when I saw it Feather for the first time. I had a glimpse of this being the future, as does Richard Branson who is putting the money down, so to speak.

This is the closest future of space flight we know right now, with the Space Ship 1 that NASA made now being retired.

  • @CarsBikesLife That doesn't change the fact that you can't reach orbit with Spaceship2. What they are doing here is basically a private version of the X-15. If you want real space flight look at SpaceX and their Falcon rockets, those things actually reach orbit and can carry a ton of payload with them (at a higher price).

Spaceship2 is good at was it does, and it might be an important first step for space tourism but its just a first step, going orbit will require something quite different.

  • @grumbel45 It will require more money to make it in to space. Our good mate Richard is going to fork it out I bet.

    SpaceX is promising.

  • I would have expected the "feathering" to be a much more gradual process. It really just flares right out. That has to be a heck of a stress on the airframe at the point of transition. Its really an amazing achievment. Wow ,we've really come a long way in a hundred years.People take it for granted nowdays, but honestly,I'm still amazed every time I see a machine leave the ground and return safely. Its a thing of beauty.

  • Great video! Seems like they have a lot of small vertical oscillation when feathering...must be quite a ride. Thanks for posting this!

  • Amazing..!! Probably i'll be on the Space Ship 3..!! OVER 200 Kms..!!! :)
