Don't know why people complain about bass. If they wanted bass, they could get the companion 3 with sub woofer. These companion 2's are perfect for the PC or laptop. So much clarity. Of course these companion 2's don't compare to my bose wave radio/cd player. With the 2's, I can hear the bass just fine, but I am not expecting an earth shattering thump! Good speakers. Been a bose fan since the Bose 201 Bookshelf speakers. The original that were made of wood. Lasted me about a good 14-15 yrs

I see some Klipsch fan boys comments but actually in some reviews they where not considered the better against some other similar price speakers.
The Bose to me sound great I have these and the Companion 3, once I use a little equalization for the room they are in they sound smooth and very good sound without any distortion. AudioEngine a5 do sound better but they are so big and ugly, and depending on how loud you play your music will depend if they are right for you.

These are perfect if you have a laptop and need portability and are on the run most of the time. For a desktop I probably would have gone with a 7.1 surround sound. But of course, not portable... These speakers serve their purpose. Small and convenient with a great sound.
My father just bought these from an upgrade of some really crappy amplified speakers. I looked these speakers that he bought. You are not kidding! Just the way it sounds through my speakers, I can tell they are very high quality and can withstand high frequencies. But of course anything from Bose is going to be awsome. You pay a little more but get what you pay for. Don't go cheap when it comes to entertainment and sound quality. Nice speakers man!

well i don't think you should have gone straight for bose in the first place...for $150 you could get logitech z-2300 and they have verty powerful satellites that reproduce highs and mids perfectly and they have a 120 watt subwoofer that has incredibly deep bass and can go very low with out distorting and the bass is also very loud and ACTUALLY shakes your room not just makes the floor vibrate a little tiny bit....theres quite a difference
Yeah you're right, over pricing, I got the Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX Certifeid PC Speakers and they blown Bose away especially when it comes to bass. With the Klipsch, you can even take off front grill unlike the Bose.
You guys have no motherfucking idea what a good sound is. Go to a Bose store, and you wont regret it. I have had a pair of Bose 201 series IV Speakers for 15 years now and they have served me well. They are getting old and they dont sound as good as they used to, but when you turn on the equalizer, woooh! It just blows me away... The mid-range thing is true though... Dont disagree on that one, anyways, go find some real sound you fucking idiots....

Oh by the way...mine sound great without an EQ...they have perfect definition of mids highs and especially bass...well the highs aren't quite as good on z-2300s as they are on z-5500s because they have larger sattellites with better tweeters and mid range drivers are bigger too. I was looking for some speakers to use with a digital piano (whose onboard speakers are quite mediocre). This is just for home use. I'm looking to improve the sound quality and pump up the volume a bit. Would those Logitech z-2300 speakers you were mentioning do the trick?
Definately, The satellite speakers, though small do pump out a ton of sound with great mids and highs and the 120 watt subwoofer hits the lows perfectly. I find that when these speakers are turned up loud...that is when they really shine, but they sound great on any volume really. I don't think you will be disappointed with z-2300s they are fantastic speakers!
bass isn't everything you have to hear all the details in the music. thats exactly why i threw out my bose acoustimass 5 and bought audioengine a5's for my pc setup. they are so much better.

I remember waking up in the morning to see my speakers hanging from their wires over the side of my desk because my cats knocked 'em down during the night, this happened more than once, and they still sound and look brand new. 3 Years man, 3!

These C2 are an upgrade from the MediaMate computer speaker back in '00-'02. Both have a built in mini bass.
I have the C5, they are awesome. Be the judge, listen to them B4 you buy. Good or bad, you get wot you pay for!
