He has a good voice for sure, but it's kind of shaky and flat. He has trouble staying in key, so you get the same effect as a guitar that is ALMOST perfectly tuned, but always a little dissonant.

Apart from that, I agree that he does have a characteristic and personal voice, and it suits the band well.

I think it's a highly subjective thing for me. Like you said, the spirit of the early Seventies & the mad affair with the Occult coupled with Magnus' vocals is where its at for me. I won't get technical though, I know better than to get technical in the presence of Metalheads. I just listen.

Ursa - I think he's confused about Magnus's use of vibrato and blue notes, mistaking it for "shaky" and having trouble staying in key. :-( Vibrato is actually a difficult technique to use! I agree with you that he's a gifted vocalist.
