I think the biggest tribute I can pay to Kane is that although he had a relativley short peak in career, (its safe to say he is no longer being scripted superstar)

If you were to take every wrestler in WWF/WWE history in their absolute peak, and put them into a competition - Kane would win hands down, every time.

When he was at his peak, it simply wasnt a question of who could stop him - it was a case of how MANY people would it take to stop him.

sorry to disagree, but i'd have to say undertaker was like that. there was a time when every wrestler was trying to beat taker because he wouldn't lose. but i agree, kane back in the day was scary. but i don't consider this point kane's peak. he was one of the unstopables, but i'd say he was at his peak when other wrestlers were getting better, like when bigshow came in from wcw, when the rock was getting is superstardom, kurt angle's early years and so forth.
