I think their first paying gig, as Steve, Bob & Rich was at the Grecian Gardens at 75th & Prospect during their short run as a punk rock venue. Maybe 1980 or 81 anyone remember being there
One of the great American bands to come out of the 80s, along with The Smithereens, Jason and the Scorchers, Beat Farmers, The Long Ryders, and The Radiators.
Anyone who's had the great pleasure of knowing and loving this band knows how fantastic they were. I have great memories of rocking to the Rainmakers!
I was there at the uptown in Kc when they made this video. The video people told everyone to go crazy after each take. They played it 5 times in a row before they got one they liked.I was in the upper deck.About 5 rows from the edge. The uptown is not that nice of place , but somehow they made it look good.
I was at this show way back in '86. I was in the balcony a few feet away from the guys with the sign at the first of the video. I saw The Rainmakers many times here in KC and don't think they got the glory they deserved. They were an incredible live band and their debut album was and is an underrated gem!

Anybody remember how they used to pack the house at parody hall, down in the river market! Ain"t funny how time slips away

That was the New parody hall because the old parody hall was too small. They packed that place everytime they played there.
