You're very fortunate to have had only a minor lisp. I had so much movement in my trays and quite a bit of gap distance between some teeth what when they put the first set of trays in my mouth, I couldn't speak properly at all. I couldn't say most words or even be understood due to what my tongue was doing - trying to learn how to speak again, literally. You are beautiful without them...you'll have an amazing smile when you're done. :)
@jmr1068204 Awwww thank you sooo much for the compliment!!! Thats so sweet! I was really lucky! Before I got them, I was preparing myself for a terrible lisp, and was quite shocked when I put them in lol. I wish everyone could've been as fortunate. Are you just starting your treatment??
@omgwow33 Nah, I just finished 23 upper trays and 20 lower. Got my first set of "refinements" coming...I have no idea how many top and bottom those will be. With Invisalign Full, I get different refinements with whatever number of trays needed per set. Each new set has to have new impressions, of course. So I had my Invisalign buttons ground off yesterday (no anesthetic for 12 of them...it hurt. lol). Just using old trays as retainers until I get new ones and new buttons in different places.
I was congenitally missing upper lateral incisors (the tooth on either side of the two top front center teeth) and a couple of my central incisors on the bottom (the two front bottom center teeth) are still both baby teeth at 28 years old. So they're going to pull those two baby teeth and put in a mini dental implant in the gum with double normal teeth on it. The same for the missing upper lateral incisors. Invisalign is being used to make more room for the upper ones. Pushing teeth back.
@jmr1068204 oh so you're done with the inital treatment! thats awesome! hopefully you dont have too many more trays! at what point did they tell you that you'd need the refinements? my ortho hasn't ever mentioned them, and i'm hoping that i can get away without them!
@omgwow33 Well technically, you may have paid for them and the dentist may or may not be telling you about them. It just depends on which Invisalign package you purchased. I think I remember that you paid for sort of a generic version, so I'm not sure if they have the same practice of refinement trays. But you basically only get refinement trays if your last trays were not fitting properly. I think they originally made the trays wrong on certain teeth, which never really fit properly.
@jmr1068204 I got the regular Invisalign. I didn't know about a "generic" version, until someone mentioned it on here lol. Although, it would have been nice to save a little money and go with generic! My ortho has never mentioned refinements, not even to tell me that it could be a possibility. I knew what they were though. He's very certain on his work, and I'm hoping he doesn't drop the bomb on me and rack on more trays. I guess we'll just see how my #30 trays feel, and hope for the best!! :)
@omgwow33 You also get refinement trays if your teeth did not move as much as was expected in order to fit the trays. As long as you are wearing the trays at least 22 hours per day and taking them out only to eat, they should theoretically move with the trays over the 2 weeks. But sometimes teeth are stubborn and take a little more time, especially if you have any teeth being "extruded" (pulled out of the gum to make them longer. That's one of the hardest things to do with Invisalign.

@TheDreamCatcher86 wow! never heard of that before. is it the same type of process? does it seem to be working? i just searched it, and couldn't find any dentists around me that has that. i read that its for minor teeth alignments cases too, which wouldnt have worked for me anyways! but you got a good deal! hope it works out for you! :)
@omgwow33 , yeah only certain dentists offer it, its fairly new, its the EXACT same as invisilign, just cheaper because it doesnt have the major brand name, i got them here in TX, i dont know where else they have them, i'll have to ask when i get my second set:)
Yep, my dental package gets me all of my aligners, all of my consultations and appointments, a free whitening treatment at the end of my Invisalign and..............A FINAL RETAINER! :D I'm going to just sit there and run my tongue along my teeth all day! :P haha
Invisalign really is the best thing that was ever created, well, apart from the internet...and hair straighteners....and phones....well, you get the idea - it's amazing! :P hehe
yes! along with the internet, hair straighteners, and phones! cant forget about those!! lets just say that there are a TON of amazing inventions out there... invisalign is towards the top of that list :D lol
I know, I can't wait until mine is finished, but the mad thing is that now I actually prefer having my aligners in than not - they make your teeth feel all shiny! :)
I would also really recommend the treatment to anyone who is considering it - I originally had a really bad underbite, and my upper and lower teeth used to have a big gap between them when I smiled.
Now, 7 months on, my teeth are about 1/2 a millimeter away from touching and I've still got 18 more sets to go :)
@princesssnowbunny hahahaha! well after the trays are done, dont we get a retainer that we'd just wear at night or something? maybe you could just wear it all day! lol.
sounds like your teeth have had a lot of progress! YAY!! i dont see how invisalign wouldnt work. i think its the greatest invention ever! :)
does it really work? i have dentists that say they will and others that say it wont. I dont know what the heck to do! my teeth are not even that terrible.
@abab999ab yes! its working for me! i saw progress within just one month of having it. im now done with 2 months of it, and continue to see change. i do recommend it, if you're considering it!! :)
I had 8 teeth removed when I was younger and it didn't help my teeth at all! I was just left with gaps in my smile and still lots of overcrowding :(
I've had my Invisalign for nearly 7 months - I change into set 15 tomorrow and then I've still got another 18 sets to go after that, so it's still a long way to straight teeth! :S
@princesssnowbunny thank you sooo much! I appreciate it greatly! :) I wish you the best of luck with your treatment as well!!
I totally know what you're feeling/saying. I've only had it for 2 months, and want it to be done already! lol. I'm currently on #5 of 30 trays- looks like we're both in this long process together! Hopefully the time will fly for both of us :)
Yes i have an overbite going through invisalign too!!! The ortho said I was done but I don't think so I think I still have a long way to go. Good luck with your invisalign treatment and keep those videos posted!!
@omgwow33 no i am not done yet she thinks I am but I still have an overbite. I am going in tomorrow to see the ortho and talk to her. Good luck with your invisalign journey!!!
@omgwow33 my case is a jaw thing too!! I had braces when i was a teenager. Also had jaw surgery, but apparently I am one of the precentage of having a relapse. Would not do jaw surgery again!! horrible, horrible!! but everyone is different.
LOL at 7 min you said BEEEEGGG!!! its BAAAAGGGG!! !LOL :P
yay, im glad you FINALLY got your invisalign!!! I remmeber you're first meeting , you were suppose to call me like afterwardsbecause we needed to discuss In the heights details. So i feel like im on this journey with you!! GOOD luck, you'll look great. I know it !:D
@MarcsQueenie09 oh my gosh HAHAHHAHA!! how did i know that you'd mention how i say it? i know you so well :) i literally was going to pause what i was saying in my video, and say "yes, ashlee, i said bag" LOL! and thank you so much!! yes, you've been on this journey with me since the very beginning!! :D
@omgwow33 lol well you should know me well SAL SISTA!! :P lol i would have died a little inside if you had paused, andmentioned the fact you sad " Beg" instead of "Bag"! LOL
Oh and also while watching this video i noticed how much of an adult you look like. We're all getting so much older. Time is flying by waaay too fast!
@MarcsQueenie09 LOL i'll give you a shoutout in my next video! i dont know what yet, but i'll think of something great! :D so be on the lookout for it!!
i'll take that as a compliment, so thanks!! :) i know!! its insaneeee how fast all of us youngins are growing up.
