all you need to do is mix 1 or 2 tablespoons of borax (found in the laundry soap aisle of the grocery store) with about a quarter cup of honey or pancake syrup. Molasses or Kayro would work also. Table sugar works too, as does peanut butter. Anyway, mix it well, then place nickle-sized portions on cardboard or foil. Put them out where you are seeing the ants. Within about 48 hours your ant problems will stop. The ants take it back home, and it does kill the queen.
Do a search for Borax ant killer mix. This video here is o.k. for temporary problems but it won't kill the Queen or other ants in the nest. You need to use BAIT.
Damn I should have watched this earlier and gotten orange guard bcuz I have already sprayed my room with raid and I'm in the living room waiting for it to sterilize
@21hdflat The answer to your question is probably in the warning section on the label of your product. If you can't find it, there is probably a phone number to call on the label as well.
I heard baby powder also works. The ants would dry up. If they go back to their nest, they would spread the baby powder to other ants. It's very absorbent and ants need moisture to live. So you can spread to other places in your house, but preferably not near any foods.
Great tip. After seeing it. I remembered that have a cat repellent that is citrus based. I tried it on the ants. It killed them quickly. Best of all the bottle says it won't harm our house cat.
As my cereal sits in my fridge? I'm ready to kill these little maggots. (I had a brand new box of fruity loops, never opened & those ants actually put a hole in the sealproof bag & swarmed around it) I hate them...That & all the other cereal on the baker's rack is in a garbage bag outside!)
You are really over exaggerating "pest control" pesticides. Most of them are less toxic than your dishsoap. And they are biodegradable and water soluable. And they work better. If you spray the ants with the orange killer then you might as well have smashed them with your finger. Thats how effective it is. Killing ants instantly is not the way to solve ant problems.
In the orchard, I mix granulated sugar and boric acid 50/50 and fill small plastic empty water bottles with holes punched in the lid. They come for the sugar and it kills everything in the nest.
:( but the poor ants just wanna be starship rangers!!!

IT HAS WORKED FOR ME, Don't wipe it up to get a FULL effect
Cakedecorator28 1 year ago
Doesn't work, you might as well stomp the ants, it doesn't kill the queen, that's what you need to kill a colony.
