What's up with 2:14-2:33?

The part of 2:14-2:33 is acting of voice actor Kei Tomiyama and Hirotaka Suzuoki.

Tomiyama was playing the hero of this anime(Sokkyuu Go=Ippatsuman) in '82-'83.

And the narrator of this anime was Suzuoki.

Tomiyama died in '95.

Suzuoki died in '06.

They were respected by a lot of people.

Lyrics of the third part(after 2:37) is tribute for them.

Masayuki Yamamoto who wrote this song and singing added it to former lyrics in '07.

There's something I don't understand: They've used a full song with lyrics for Roll's theme, but not for any of the Tatsunoko characters ?

That's odd... what, did they worried that players would get caught in the rhythm and stop playing the game properly or something ?

They probably thought it'd be weird to have such a lopsided music selection with Capcom characters having intrsumentals and Tatsunoko having vocals. I think they went with the vocal for Roll because she was the only character to have a vocal in MvC

This sounds like a kids show theme song but the singer makes it sound so awesome. Who is the singer. It's not Isao Sasaki that's for sure.

Yeah. They're not music added for the sake of advertising the album. The music was made for the anime alone.

Yeah, themes made specifically for the series have a lot more charm and authenticity to them. Most of the OP and ED songs around now just seem so tacked on.

It's good to see people so enthusiastic about retro anime.

It might not really count, but I'm pretty sure that One Piece's first OP was made for the series ("We Are!"), and it was a pretty great song.

Anyway, I'm not sure which of these songs is my favorite. Right now it's a tie between Gyakuten! Ippatsuman, Hurricane Polymer, and Uchuu no Kishi Tekkaman.
