  • QUE POTENCIAL DE VOZ.. increible

  • What a singer

  • Long live to 80's and 90's

We all that bornt in one of these decades are blassed by God!

(Sorry about my English I am Brazilian *--*

  • Irene Cara is gorgeous!

  • Rock it, girl.

  • I really feel Bonnie Tyler should have won

  • Phenominibus incredibus!!

  • that's the voice||||

  • Irene Cara for someone like me is the only person I would compare to Whitney Houston (great lady's) bodyguard album...And, she is LIVE...Incredible!!(:

  • @bethcamiluv27 Teena Marie could have given both of the a run for there money...

  • indudablemente the time past

  • Sitting here watching all the old '84 Grammys and i've noticed...there aren't a whole bunch of over-slutty dancers all around...but then ..there aren't any dancers at all. the singers don't even dance. they just sway and sing. i guess if you have a really powerful voice like Irene here, you don't need to know how to dance :)

  • man she sounds so great! what a voice, and she wrote all her own songs.

  • I remember Irene Cara from the original movie "Fame"

  • OMG...I don't think I ever saw this performance....where's the band??? They SUCK! She ROCKS.

  • obviously, this was before they started lip synching performances. i was lucky enough to be 18 in 84 and remembered this type of music, including cyndi lauper and tina turner, and lets not forget journey and bob seger.

  • wow, she does have a wonderful voice and looks so pretty.

  • I always thought Irene was a studio creation ---- but she can really wail

  • Awesome voice , she´s great !!

  • Wow, great live performance, one of the best I've seen in a long time

  • Great performance...spectacular song. A timeless song for sure. Thanks for sharing.

  • For some reason I thought Donna summer did this song. Cara did a top notch job. Nailed this song in and out of the studio.

    Radioman loves you girl. :)

  • She sings beautifully:) Wow!:)

  • The other ladies did not have a chance.

  • This band doesn't make justice to Irene's powerful voice. Seems like she's singing in a cheap karaoke machine. Yet, she's just awesome.

  • Beautiful

  • This is what pop used to be...classic!

  • sounds a bit like Donna Summer..

  • love Irene Cara.she is wonderful

  • I've always thought Irene looks the pathologist from Law & Order SVU.Both women are hot.

  • I have always loved this song, which fits well with the film. GREAT!!!

  • She sang the hell out of that song

  • So beatufill and so great! Could even survive Idols and Simon Cowell. What a voice!

  • All of they are the winners

  • Irene Cara is the bomb!

  • @mrpsa KABOOM!

  • @gluserty BOOM SHE BOOM BOOM BOOM! KALOKA! LOL

  • What a hit!!!...This song sounds in every stereo and walkman in 1983....This was music...Not the crap of this days!!!

  • @romeonarcizo you are right im 18 years old and i wish this music was the music of now...=]

  • Comment removed

  • the band didnt do well for her here.

But she was amazing and beautiful just the same.

  • To this day, i'd love to have her in a taxi cab:-)

  • Por cierto, Peazo de voz!!! Impresionante

  • She can't sing like this anymore. I do still lover her though. She lost alot of the layers in her voice.

  • Despite the ugly band, Irene was the best !!!!

  • @BetoJimenezG eat your heart out brittany-- its all about sex now-- in those days u actualy had to be a singer and she was great one!!

  • @femsual I can't understand what you said. I sad "IRENE WAS THE BEST"

  • Great vocals, even if the music wasn't that good.

  • music suxx, and u can tell irene aint even feelin that, what is this jazzz shit, this is a pop track not a jazzz track... pleeeze grammy were smokin crack... horrible musical director

  • omg the music is horrible..the singing is good though.

  • lindo !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @pepe60627 Yo diria linda!! bella!! preciosa!!!! Quien hubiese tenido unos 30 y vivido en NY por el 83 :P

    Yo la adoro...

  • And Irene Cara got popular off of pop music. You don't even want her to start singing any soulful R&B. She can really, really blow. This was bubble gum stuff for her.

  • @soulsista1220

I agree 100%. The songs that she did during this time did nothing to showcase her voice. This ain't even half of what she can do. One movie....Sparkle!!!

  • @soulsista1220 u right do u remember when she play in that movie sparkle? she was great in that and also sister, sister, she a true gem

  • @nothinghumanlovesfor DO I?!!!! Singing at Sister's funeral was phenomenal. Sometimes I'll throw that DVD in just to watch THAT part. Lol

  • @soulsista1220 I believe you what an awwsome talent

  • What a shame that she did have more songwriters and producers clamoring to have her sing thier songs?!?!

  • So much more passion and feeling than the studio version - very nice!

  • 2:00 what a great voice!

  • why arent there such great singers now? :(

  • @Claire1Rogers i don't know why; Fiona Apple is a good songstess, same with Melanie Fiona. however, i'm not sure if they have the range of Irene Cara.
