I have payed attention to this subject closely and everything I have read and seen points to the war in Iraq as the reason for Iran's ability to move forward with their nuclear program without fear of any significant consequence. We are militarily bogged down in Iraq and Afghanistan and our relationships with China and Russia under Bush were strained enough that they wouldn't agree with the sanctions necessary to prevent Iran from moving forward. If i'm wrong please tell me how.

In case you dumb fucks have forgotten, sanctions lead to 500,000 deaths in Iraq, many being children and is by definition an act of war.

A shame, even Obama continues to ride the assumption that the US own the world. America with Britain overthrew the Iranian democracy in 1953 and installed a brutal dictator, and since the Iranians got their country back we've had it in for them.
There is no evidence based on history that Iran is an aggressive nation. In the last 10 years alone israel has committed more acts of aggression than i can remember, yet we still continue to SUPPLY them with nukes.

Amen, but at least Obama isn't going gun-ho on the knowledge of nuclear activities in Iran like Bush did on the SUSPICION of nuclear activities in Iraq.
"Iran has a right to peaceful nuclear power that meets the energy needs of its people" - Obama (in this video). That's a big step AWAY from America trying to own the world, like our government has been doing for the past 30 years.
And the fact that President Obama is willing to talk about it shows he knows something about logical diplomacy.

Also, it isn't only the United States involved in this. This whole thing about overwatching Iran's nuclear program is being backed up by the majority of the UN and being lead by the United States, the United Kingdom, France, China, Russia, and Germany.

We've got a good reason to want to watch their nuclear activity, but at the same time, we take too much onto out own hands, trying to make it our responsibility. The US, Iran, and the UN have many different sides for something we all claim to be fighting for the same thing about.
