I haven't spent more than 1 hour viewing FOX news in my life and I'm 30 years old. Those hours watching it were because I was in a public establishment and it happened to be on the TV. It was enough time to convince me what garbage it truly was. You are either a watcher of garbage or not.
What happened to the audio? Did Fox send in a complaint? If they did, I suggest a lawsuit if they say copyright, because it's bullshit. It's protected under the fair use clause.
When I see anything by fox "news", I am reminded of what W.R. Hearst said to one of his reporters regarding the Spanish-American War, "You write the story and I'll give you your war". That was said just before the boilers on the Maine blew up, bringing us into the war with Spain.

@guneyd Also note that in terms of the 2004 US election, both candidates supported the war and said they would have removed Saddam even if the truth about WMD had been known beforehand. So it's not like there was a "pro-war, anti-war" option. Also note that the war was but one of many issues that swung votes that year. If memory serves, something like 10 or 11 per cent of war OPPONENTS voted for Bush because they supported him on other issues.

No, I don't agree that Republicans and Democrats are left wing, I say that there is a struggle for power between forces. The rich are typically on one side and the working class are typically on the other. The purpose for the formation of our system of our gvt was to organize the working class against the elite class. It has failed. It's now mostly controlled by the rich elite. The belief that you can just reduce the power of gvt to prevent the rich from controlling it is a fantasy.
The only way you can fight it is to use the power that we have under our control. At one time, it was the unions but they've been crushed. The only power we have left is the government. We have to take control of it. But the Republican party is 100% controlled by the elite whereas the Democratic party is only about 50% controlled by them. We will have more success taking over the Democratic party than we will the Republican. The Libertarian party can't ever take control under our system.

if you take polls from people who dont watch any news how are they going to know whats going on over seas? The only way to get informed is to read, watch, or listen to some sort of news or be informed by someone else who reads, watches, or listens to the news. You can't honestly say that the only reason those study results were what they were purely from more information and not fox feeding the public bullshit.
I think a large part of the study was caused by the fact that PBS viewers are the most informed people around.
Besides the title says that FOX news watching makes you uninformed. Therefore the study should be testing FOX news watchers to non-news watchers. Because the difference between these two groups is watching FOX news and not watching it.

Obama is the one who lied not PBS. they just supported what he said during th campaign. Fox news just says outright lies. During the campaign and during the presidency. They just lied. @guneyd Also note that in terms of the 2004 US election, both candidates supported the war and said they would have removed Saddam even if the truth about WMD had been known beforehand. So it's not like there was a "pro-war, anti-war" option. Also note that the war was but one of many issues that swung votes that year. If memory serves, something like 10 or 11 per cent of war OPPONENTS voted for Bush because they supported him on other issues.

It's unfortunate that many liberals don't like calling themselves liberals because the corporatists have brainwashed the masses into believing it's a dirty word. I just wish they would succeed in doing the same for Conservative and Republicans but they're WAY more in bed with the Conservatives than they are with the "Liberals".

And the Corporatists (and ALL of the Republicans in the Federal Congress are Corporatists, except Ron Paul) spread the wealth from the poor and middle class to the rich.

I agree that BOTH Republicans and Democrats are left wing, and that republicans back fascism and monopoly capitalism... however democrats back socialism and government ownership of private property and business.
Either side is bad news. What we need are more constitutional moderates like Ron Paul.

No, I don't agree that Republicans and Democrats are left wing, I say that there is a struggle for power between forces. The rich are typically on one side and the working class are typically on the other. The purpose for the formation of our system of our gvt was to organize the working class against the elite class. It has failed. It's now mostly controlled by the rich elite. The belief that you can just reduce the power of gvt to prevent the rich from controlling it is a fantasy.

The only way you can fight it is to use the power that we have under our control. At one time, it was the unions but they've been crushed. The only power we have left is the government. We have to take control of it. But the Republican party is 100% controlled by the elite whereas the Democratic party is only about 50% controlled by them. We will have more success taking over the Democratic party than we will the Republican. The Libertarian party can't ever take control under our system.

And btw, Ron Paul isn't center or right. He's in a class of his own. I think he's wrong because I've come to realize that you can't use Aikido against the rich, you have to smash their faces in, but at least he's honest and principled.

Well, the way I see the scale is left being 100% government control (socialism, fascism, communism, oligarchies, dictators, etc.), and the right being 0% (anarchy).
I see the need for some limited amount of government controlled by the rule of law. Basically, I'm a constitutional moderate.
Don't let yourself be fooled, BOTH republicans and Democrats are ruled be their special interests. The evil businesses you refer to get power from the government.

I agree that the "evil businesses" (EB) get their power from the gvt but it's a circle. The gvt get's their power from the EB which gives more power to the EB, etc. That's why it's a battle but the only viable weapon we've got right now is the gvt. That's why we've got to take it over.
As for the left vs right: dictatorships aren't necessarily right or left. You're just redefining the word to suit your political beliefs and to use it as a pejorative.

The proper scale of left to right is 100% gvt on the left and 0% on the right. Dictatorships (basically oligarchies, with one member of the group out front) would be far left. I have "redefined" nothing. I am just calling it what it is.
Thats the problem in America, too many people don't even know how to properly define terms of governance.
Anyway, in the gvt AND the EB's we are currently ruled by a powerful few. The only answer is to limit gvt. to regain control.

Left-Wing =/= Totalitarian.
Fascism is right-wing. Oligarchies can swing both ways. Dictators can be leaders of a fascist or communist (Soviet communism) state.
The Democrats are right-wing when compared to the rest of the world. Republicans are reactionaries.

The sad part about fox propaganda is that some poor souls actually buy into it. I implore all American to stop believing what any news man says and do the independent research yourself then and only then will you know the truths in our world. An example watch all the American new stations not one talks about the Copenhagen conference but that could change America more than any other even ever has just read the treaty that has been purpose it some sick stuff.

Right on! The US has become all about "advertising" (aka Campaigning). Corporatist Politicians (most of whom are Republicans) don't give a damn about helping the US any more. All they care about is the "game". The game of WINNING. Whether it's winning their partisan ideological opinion or winning the election. Of course this is MUCH more true of the Republicans than the Democrats so I hold out more hope of controlling the Democratic party than I do the Republican.

It could just be that NPR educates people better than fox does. In order to say that Fox uneducates people you'd have to poll people that don't watch news and have them be more informed.

if you take polls from people who dont watch any news how are they going to know whats going on over seas? The only way to get informed is to read, watch, or listen to some sort of news or be informed by someone else who reads, watches, or listens to the news. You can't honestly say that the only reason those study results were what they were purely from more information and not fox feeding the public bullshit.

I think a large part of the study was caused by the fact that PBS viewers are the most informed people around.
Besides the title says that FOX news watching makes you uninformed. Therefore the study should be testing FOX news watchers to non-news watchers. Because the difference between these two groups is watching FOX news and not watching it.
