@richmanpoman1 The chainwhip was around long before(conventional)firearms. It wasn't designed to go "up against" a firearm. Neither was a sword, spear,or staff. Not to mention there's a sense of dignity one gets from raining their bodies and minds to be able use such a weapon with precision. You do not get this from a firearm.
@nstiles42 from living in the worst state for weapons (maybe u can even figure that one out) a weapon used like this would easily be considered unnecessary violence in a self defense situation. (where i live rubber bullets are too) in a self defense situation (a real one) this shit would get you put in jail so fast, plus this traditional martial arts is complete bs, study combat and you will see that, very simple. ok im done arguing with retards..
@chromakey84 Your state maybe completely different, b/c I've never heard the term "unnecessary violence" unless it pertained to a LEO. In FL we are pretty liberal in how you defend yourself. I also was not questioning it's suitability as a defense weapon, as this is a demonstration-- just your terse legality remark (maybe you can even figure that one out). BTW, military's the world over teach traditional martial arts (Russia, N. Korea) or combat evolved from traditional MA.
@00ghostcobra - any time I anger Cynthia she may well want to use it - I hope she left it at home - I know I left mine at home - its not good to use ones whip without good reason, anyways my whip technique leaves a lot to the imagination - my imagination. LOL
Cynthia Rothrock; I haven't head anything about her in YEARS!!! Emm...last I remember is reading about her in a martial arts magazine where she punched some guy on the highway.
i enjoyed all her movies in the early 90's as a great matial artist, i always liked it when she kicked the beep out of the no good beep beep beeeeeeeep. great movies indeed a true pioneer in great martial arts movies a lot on tri mark movies.
she SHOULD have been Sonya Blade for Mortal Kombat....playing the first video game, i always pictured her as the character:)!!!!! I love you Cyntia Rothrock! I've watched all of her movies..lady dragon was prolly my fave.
The designers and creators of Mortal Kombat have used her as inspiration for the Sonya Blade character. So in a way, Cynthia Rothrock was Sonya Blade.
and for chrissake, who the fuck cares if it's LEGAL or not. I have a zillion "illegal" weapons for fun, I've never hurt anyone, and the cops don't run onto my yard the second I take one out to practice with it. don't be a fuckin pussy about it, legality laws are BULLSHIT. it's the moron wielding the weapon, not the weapon itself that's dangerous! You can kill someone with a ROCK, should we outlaw stones and rocks?? that mentality is so stupid
Cynthia is awesome!I love her movies and she along with Keith Cooke and Loren Avedon Inspired me to train in my teenage days!GR8 to see her on YT!5 Stars, and she is a Star!
I always enjoy Cyndi and Karen (Sheperd) together and fighting, this is funny because the two women are the best at what they do and have been friends forever. In the movie "Righting Wrongs", Karen used this very weapon against Cyndi in that fight scene together, and the rest was history. It became one of the greatest fight scenes in movie history, and it introduced Karen to a broader audience around the world!!!
Cynthia Rothrock holds black belts in five different forms of martial arts, so I think it is pretty safe to say that she would be able to beat up about 97% of men and women in the world.
Having said that, who do you think would win a real fight between Cynthia and former British kickboxer and stuntwoman Sophia Crawford?
Good video, also the quality is really good. But the use of this weapon is forbade virtually everywhere, even if Cynthia them as a makeshift fancied with one any time can defend, instead of a hand-held weapon or something else silly with himself rumzuschleppen. I look at the Steel Whip as an alternative, but I believe not which should be it the real subject, but it is only about the video. And the video is simply first-class.
Real section whip is actually quite heavy and sometimes the end was sharpened as well -- nothing like this one or other wushu counterparts ! Section whip is heavy and hurts, is fast and covers alot of space ... nearly all section whip I've seen on the internet/youtube is performance crap. One of my favourite weapons.
damn cyntia rothcrock, i went through the late 80's and early 90's watching her movies alongside jackie chan, samo hung, yuein biao those were the days chinese movie days and ninjitsu craze
Impressive, but how will she defend herself when "the opponent" pulls out a firearm? Just sayin'-
