  • I'll be a man and admit that I shed tears for Jeffery. Perhaps THE most painful overbid I have ever seen in the 28 years I have watched The Price is Right. It isn't about the amount that someone's over, it's the thought of what could have been that really hurts when it happens.

  • When you say "Greco" are you to mean Kathy, as in the producer? And by referring to her, does this mean you're TPiR staff or something? :[]

  • @lobstertexas Yes to the first, but no to the latter

  • 5 hours to go anywhere in the world? What? Like the middle of the ocean?

  • That's brutal.

  • at least he wasn't judith (she lost by $1)

  • To Joshua's credit, he was nice enough to console Jeffrey before celebrating his own win. I respect that.

  • Drew should've just said "You're over. Joshua wins!" like Bob usually does. That's all. Drew shouldn't rub it in.

  • LUCKY Joshua! O_O Once Drew Carey said that 3, if I was Jeffrey, I would have fainted.

  • That has to be the WORST big buzzer moment (1:10) in the Carey Era.

    I HURT for this man.

  • Goddamn. $50,000 for EACH showcase? I'd heard talk that they were getting overinflated but I had no idea just how bad it was...

  • So damned close. I feel for him. :(

  • u know he just cringes every time he sees a boxster go by.

  • @AstronomyGuru1 click 5 it's easier

  • @WayoshiM Probably one of the most fitting titles for a YourTube video.

"Majorly, Majorly Painful Overbid" oh noooo...! So True.

Wow, the winner hugs freely, with no reticence in the approach. That's VERY cool. No doubt he has lots of friends in his life.

  • could have been worse

    it could have been $58.......499!

  • good grief when you named it "painfull overbid" i thought it was a mistake. :O

    poor dude.

  • Joshua's emotion at 1:24 is priceless! (When he says, "WHAT?" LOL)

  • Dude, that's absolutely horrible.... Like wow.... $176..... At least Drew was somewhat sympathetic with him.

  • Absolutely painful overbid! :(

  • "5 Hours on a private jet anywhere you want to go in the world." Can you go ANYWHERE in the world on a jet in 5 hours???

  • What was that sound effect after the Double overbid it sounded like a whooshin speed like sound.

  • why you bid $500???

  • But the guy who won was Josh Woo, who had appeared on Jeopardy! Kids Week!

  • @nlafavore Maybe that other Josh Woo was Josh Woo Jr. Or maybe their was a little kid on Jeopardy! Kids Week! with a massively big head.

  • poor jeffrey

  • Oh that's right.. Joshua won because... although he bid WAY under.... the fact that the other guy went OVER makes him the winner by default. Wow. That's kinda cool.

  • Damn..

  • That's the longest and most awkward pause I can ever remember between someone going over, and the winning bells for the other person. Remember Barker's lightning fast, "You're OVER! (points to winner) YOU WIN!"

  • @Pyrotech56 Agree there. But that was deserved since the fans and audience felt the loss -- even the winner did. A few times on close calls Drew lets the audience's emotions overrule him -- note the "That was a tough loss" comment a few days later.

  • Ouch

  • If i was dude, I'd be crying.

  • i feel so bad for them both lol. just because joshua's victory was overlooked by the fact that the bid was over by $176

  • hindsight is 20/20 but come on...58k would be perfect LOL

  • so, what happened to the porsche?

  • they need to get rid of the "without going over" crap i mean on the contestants row someone bids 500 and the actual retail price is 499! but instead somebody that bid 1 dollar gets it!

  • @Tristin471 That's been the rule since day one. It adds that degree of difficulty that makes winning on "The Price is Right" that much of a challenge.

  • @Tristin471 The "thrill of victory... and the agony of defeat" would be gone if they got rid of the "without going over crap" . The audience would quickly lose interest if there wasn't the tension created by that one rule.

  • That's PAINFUL!

  • Wow. Idiot over there underbids by over 16k...and the other guy overbids by a measly 176 dollars. Wow. Just wow.

  • @useraccount333 Well that's the game...but 5 hours of private jet service was $25k, completely unexpected.

  • That sucks :(

  • STOP ADDING $500

    IS WILL NEVER WORKED!

  • oh god

this would suck balls if that happened to me

  • that hurts, and i would've guessed even higher for a showcase with a porchse...i remember seeing a porsche won in an ep around 1988 where the price was in the 45k range...

  • A few years ago someone bid $12,000 on their showcase and the ARP was $11,999. It was also a double overbid. Now that's painful.

  • Game Over For jeffrey At 1:09

  • oooo..he so close on having that car

  • Comment removed

  • that has got to be the most painful overbid in the history of the price is right the only thing that would have made this worse was that he was over by $1 or less then $100 but still a really painful overbid on such a big showcase

  • Yeah..and this was a $58000+ showcase

  • @abyss271 agreed. he lost by $176!! You're right, it would of sucked even more if he was off by $76!!!

  • There was never a double showcase win on the 38th season.

  • You mean not yet :)

  • Or I meant as far as I know of. This was a bad season for that show with the overbids on the showcase,

  • And it was done today

  • There's finally a DSW win on the 38th season on St. Patrick's Day. I saw that on TV.

  • @WayoshiM There were 2 DSW's on the 38th Season. March 17 and May 14. I've checked the summary.

  • There was one yesterday finally!

  • March 17th saw the 1st one!

  • @crispinh1 So did I on TV.

  • @nwest1140 There have been three, the last of which was in the S38 finale on July 2.

  • Whenever you see the Zerg cam, you know it's painful.

  • I should have you know that "that guy" is actually me...

  • What a tragic loss. The TV director captured everything perfectly. Just seeing Jeffery's head hit the podium, with his bid screen changing to "Over", and the losing buzz shattering his dreams of owning a Porche... you feel for the guy.

Joshua is even shocked, not believing he could win with such a huge underbid. Both were good sports, but the video is really about Jeffery's loss.

  • That may be true, but the rules clearly state that you can't go over...see geniusjonw's comment below.

  • went over by only $176?! Oh God that's sold Cold!

  • In Season 36 there was a $2 overbid.

  • @TexasTV The Pain, The Agony, The Misery!!! I'm sobing and it's not even MY showcase!!!

  • And the $500 was what, a tip??

  • As Bob Barker would say, "Agony! Misery!"

  • @glenbard07

"Another historic moment on the Price is Right!"

  • Oh man, that sucks!!!!

  • OHHH. OUCH. I feel very sorry for that guy.

  • I wouldn't mind paying $4k for a $12k car just off the lot....

With all the crap that nude guy from the first "Survivor" when through for not paying taxes on his winnings, is it really a secret that you have to pay taxes on things you win in this country?

Sucks that it's like that but it's true.

  • That..... really sucks.... Poor guy.

  • Only thing I hate about this show....you could be one dollar over and you lose.

Wish at least in the Showcase they could change that - make it a $100 window either way.

  • @ robotrix

Then it wouldn't be as challenging, if you make it that way in the showcase, you'd have to do the same thing in Contestant's Row and that would take away part of the fun.

  • ouch

  • FML moment

  • HORRIBLE WSD!

  • pretty much the same thing happened today

  • Go josh!!!!!!!

  • Oh geez. :O

  • Watch at the end when he at the audence upset. I feel bad for him. If he only bid just $58,000, not adding 500 in it, he should got it.

  • You're right...typically people underbid on the fancy car showcases...this guy got a little too close to the line, and unfortunately went over!

  • i couldnt believe it. i thought he had the car.

  • Heck, I was there the whole time and I thought he won 'em both!

  • over by $176!!!!! OUCH!!!

  • @bhuang8 WSD

  • Well Game Over For Jeffrey at 1:09

  • That had to suck! My mom told me about this today.

  • (in a Don Adams voice) Missed it by THAT much!

  • What happened to HD also? it looked nice.

  • I haven't been picking up that feed on the recorder for a month, sadly - just randomly disappeared one day.

  • I yelled at this one! oh my god so close! 58,000 would have been more logical.

  • 1:14

    yuck.

  • Thanks Wayoshi, for putting this up! This is Joshua from the clip.

I feel really bad for having won that Showcase due to what happened to Jeff...

  • It's okay Josh, you did what you had to do to win. A loss of a porsche is always painful.

  • I heard the private jet is $5250/hr - did you end up forfeiting that insane prize?

  • I replied at G-R...but yeah, I did. No chance am I paying taxes on $25,000 airfare.

  • YOU'RE SO COOL. Can I have your autograph?

  • @InfernoCouchemar How many of those prizes did you end up keeping? And what the heck was the "virtual assistant for 3 months" supposed to do, anyway?

  • @Vook Everything but the jet trip. They gave me most of my Showcase prizes (except the chair and trip) in cash, which totaled around $6K.

As for that assistant service thing...I don't know, but it doesn't matter, since that gave me more than two-thirds of my cash.
