  • Welll, he's no Slash, that for sure lol

  • @LemonCrushMusic Thank fuck ;)

  • @Hardysamnin Without Slash, Axl would have no career. Appetite wouldn't exist. No appetite, no Axl. Or maybe he'd still be around...in hollywood rose or some shit.

  • @LemonCrushMusic I couldn't care less about Axl Rose lol. He can die in a pool of his own vomit for all I care ;)

  • @Hardysamnin So why the fuck are you watching a Guns N Roses video?

  • @LemonCrushMusic Because I'm watching a Ron Thal guitar solo perhaps?

  • Comment removed

  • @Hardysamnin Written by Slash...who by the way could play in time, and bend in tune.

  • @LemonCrushMusic But can't remember his own solo's because he is not pitch perfect, and can onlt play one scale.

  • @Hardysamnin Slash can remember his solos and plays his solos the same time everytime. And what is the "one scale" that he can play? I've hear him play lydian, mixolydian, and double harmonic scales. And that's just off the top of my head. Are you sure you aren't getting Slash mixed up with someone else?

  • @LemonCrushMusic There are vids of him on here failing miserably to replicate the simplist of his own solos, then saying "or something like that" . Lydian and mixolydian are simply different modes of the same diatonic scale. And no I'm not getting him mixed up with anybody ;)

  • @Hardysamnin You think so? That must suck. To have such a faulty sense of logic. Sorry :/ Again what is the "one scale" Slash plays. I'm curious as to what your definition of a scale is. You say modes are just variations of a scale, but that seems to imply that EVERYTHING is a variation on the same scale, meaning Bumblefoot is no better than Slash is no better than Eric Clapton is no better than Jimmy Page.

  • @LemonCrushMusic Your curious what my definition of a scale is? A scale... lydian and mixolydian are the same thing, just one of the 7 modes of the major scale. Any clown can play diatonically, even me. That in no way whatsoever imply's that EVERYTHING (caps lock) is a variation of the same scale. Slash = The Aeolian mode, and the pentatonic major/minor, any other appearance of another mode he plays is either accidental, or a cameo. Further more, you started this shit with your:

  • @LemonCrushMusic "He's certainly no Slash" bullshit. No, he isn't, he's ten of the guy. I'm not ripping on Slash, the first 5 GnR albums were class, and they're better than the ones with both Buckethead and Bumblefoot. But as a musician, Slash cannot, and never will, be able to hold a candle to this mans talent, period, end of story, fact.

  • @Hardysamnin Pure technical ability don't mean shit when you can't compose. In fact, comparing Slash to someone like Bumblefoot is stupid because they don't even ply the same kind of music. This is like saying Buddy Guy is [better/worse] than Bach. The difference in this case is that Bumblefoot is going onstage trying to emulate Slash, and failing REALLY hard. It's equivalent to Muddy Waters trying to emulate Beethoven or Beethoven playing a blues.

  • @LemonCrushMusic Trying to emulate Slash? Lol.. When this guy was 17 he learned Eruption by ear, ripped open the cassette, and learned it by ear backwards. The simple fact is, as a musician, and a composer, he pisses all over all but a few guitar players. Slash isn't one of them. Only a but hurt Slash fanatic could deny that.

  • Comment removed

  • @Hardysamnin Dumbass, he's onstage playing A SLASH SONG. And again compositional ability and playing Eruption don't mean anything if you can't even play in tune.

  • @LemonCrushMusic - He's playing an improvised solo over a Slash / Stradlin / McKagan written tune. Play in tune? You do not have a clue what you're talking about. Go back to strumming your chords kid. Once you learn some music theory, you will understand what is going on here.

  • @Hardysamnin Exactly. And we get back to, say, Freddie King, improvising over Mozart. And no the bends in this video are out of tune. Fact. Go back to your music theory books, nerd, hopefully you'll realize music is more than math and trying to see who can come up with the most complex time signature. Hack.

  • @LemonCrushMusic f you wanna drive your 67 Chevvy that's fine but times have changed. I'll stick to my Bugatti ^_^ Music goes far beyond the minor scale, I just wish you could realize that. If your happy with a mediocre rock/blues player then good luck to you. I was the same for 15 years before it became the same shit different day and my horizons were broadened. Thank fuck for that transition. My musical appreciation has ten folded since.

  • @Hardysamnin This music is a Bugatti to you?! Damn. That kind of explains everything. It may interest you to know that music is more than just math, speed and complex scales.

  • @Hardysamnin And I don't get the comment about chords? Are you a musician who doesn't play chords? Because...that's just not really music.

  • @LemonCrushMusic vivaldi wasn't a musician?

  • Comment removed

  • @Hardysamnin Have you ever heard a Vivaldi composition? Does it sound like all the instruments in it are playing the same note? Nope, they're HARMONIZING. Harmonies are chords.

  • @LemonCrushMusic Yet he himself does not play the very definition of a chord, i.e. 3 or more notes played together. Ok then, I'll use a different example, Paganini 5th Caprice is a solo piece on the violin. Is he not a musician for not playing a chord in that piece?

  • @Hardysamnin Paganini and all you guitarists who think you're violinists can suck my balls. Also Paganini composed for ensembles too. I guarantee he wasn;t going into "violin center" and trying to play as fast as possible. Paganini was a musician because he embraced and participated in all facets of musical creation. Guys like Bumblefoot just try to play as fast as possible and do cool "tricks" on guitar. Thelonius Monk and Pagnini are musicians. Bumblefoot is just a guitarist.

  • @Hardysamnin Also, memorizing a solo means nothing if what your memorizing completely sucks and/or if you can't execute it properly, like not being able to bend notes correctly.

  • @LemonCrushMusic Lol if by that you're talking about Ron, Slash is not even in the same game, let alone the same league. People like Greg Howe, Ritchie kotzen, Ron Thal, Frank Gambale, Guthrie Govan etc, are on another planet. Slash is a rounded blues / rock player at an intermediate stage. If your biggest plus about him is he can "bend properly" (rofl) then that doesn't really say much about his prowess as a musician. Ron can play the music in his head, and transfer it to the guitar immediately

  • Wtf is going on with the crowd?? Its guns n fuckin roses playing and they're all just standing there?

  • does anyone know who the guitarists with the long hair and long beard is?

  • @hollowhostile01 Robin Finck. He looks so different now, without the beard

  • @rendestroi1 when did he grow his hair back from that weird ass haircut? also hes dressing more normal in this video and no face paint. im not talkin shit abaout him i just hadnt realized he changed so much from the older vids.

  • Ron Thal > all other GnR guitar players. In fact Guthrie > Ron > everyone else.

  • muito foda o show ba e os fogos então muito tri o show xD

  • uhm...buckethead is better...

  • @giova90metal they are pretty much on the same level it would be hard to say whos better

  • @viejodelbasston yes,Buckethead and Bumblefoot are great guitar player, but in this song i think Buckethead has more feeling...

  • @giova90metal are u kiddin? look at buckethead solo, he just do the same pattern and combines it with bends

  • you cant really tell who has more feeling.. thats like arguing about politics

  • Bumblefoot has tons of dexterity but no taste or sense of melody. His tone is forgettable, too.

  • @jctkelly and you are? the son of Jimi Hendrix? jajjaja no taste or sense of melody? just listen any Bumble song. he is GOD

  • This sucks, what an ase for ruining slash's solo

  • BUMBLEFOOT IS GOD!

  • Wether people likes it or not, Slash will always be the real deal. Guns N' Roses owes a lot to Slash and his unique style.

  • I dont like the new gnr but u have to admit, he did a good job here, still slash's way rules! :D

  • dead cloud..

  • 0:33 What da fuck is he doing with his right hand?

  • @leandroafd just damping the strings so dud notes don't ring out

  • @leandroafd keeping the strings quiet

  • Axl should've at least changed the band name or just toured as Axl Rose. This is like David Lee Roth touring as Van Halen.

  • guns now sucks!!

  • @InsanityCreature

You'll hate guns even more now that I'm going to shoot you in the face with one.

  • @Fluffypopcicle anda a cagar boludo!!!!!!

  • It's a very great solo but confused...

  • holy shit he is totally on fire!

  • GREAT SOLO , BUMBLEFOOT RULES !

  • Never mind the solo, Axl's voice was sounding the most impressive I've heard in a long time!

  • Ronald J Blumenthal rules!!!

  • I always regarded Buckethead's Nightrain solo as the best version but i've got say that this too in it's own way was just as good.

  • Buckethead owned bumble

  • the crowd is full of zombies

  • @magisttr you mentioned zombies and i see 0:43

  • @magisttr

dude i was there. 90% of the crowd watched the concerts since 18.00. Korn, then tool (sucked big time).

GN'R was schedueld forr 0.00 , but we all know our GN'R. SO They came to stage like 1:30, fuckin' rocked till the sun came out again. was fuckin' epic.

  • @peterpuetz FUCK YOU MAN! IM JEALOUS! well at least you got some great memories to last a life time.

  • Didnt like that, the classic solo was replaced by technical dribble.

  • @RhodesLives nothing overly technical there. you're either not a guitar player, a shit guitar player, a "feel" guitar player and the final option is just someone who complains because its not the top hatted one ripping up the fretboard. its a good solo, i prefer the original but if i was in his position i'd do the same thing. i'd probably have played a little closer to the original though (just a little) also its live it doesn't have to be note for note especially a guitar solo.

  • @mrphilcollins Either that or im someone who just didnt like the solo, simple as.

  • @mrphilcollins If @RhodesLives didn't like this why you have to insult? Is your life so empty that you need to throw shit at someone else's comment so you can feel better? This solo doesn't even have the right 'sound' to start with. It doesn't matter who is playing it, it's about 'the original' vs 'this'. Slash changed this solo 100x times in the old days and it never sounded like some other thing, this is clearly some 'tap-tap' bullshit which I personally don't like in new Gn'R. That's it.

  • well i commented because i disagreed with what he had said. the solo wasn't amazing but its still far more than "technical dribble" by that same merit he just wrote off several types of guitar music not just rock. jesus he's wrote off classical music too. they all use dissonant notes flashes of speed etc. basically Bumblefoot is an amazing guitar player who for the most part respects slashs playing... however he has the right to play a different solo if he chooses...

  • I'm just saying that this band is not my favorite rock and roll from the 80s, as they were before. I still love this band, but it isn't the same.

  • isso que dá por um guitarrista desses no gnr, ele transformou o solo de nightrain estilo musica pra anime ¬¬

  • even though this still rocks it's still not as good as the man with the marlboro red ciggarette in his mouth !!!

  • this dude kicks ass

  • @masterofmorphine92 Yeah, it's a shame he didn't compose that, right??! Slash and Izzy did!! Long long time ago, when GnR were still THE GnR. World is full of good guitarist who can play it, but only few very talented people can write a riff like this which will be still played years and years later by others guys (who have NOT some good stuff like that written by themself to play).

  • @Cescus86 I don't even like GnR but Bumblefoot did an amazing work here.

  • @Cescus86 How about This I Loves solo....or the solos in There Was A TIme??? They are some of the best I've heard. I loved Slash and Izzy's solos....but don't discount these guys just because they are playing olf GNR songs. These guys are talented!!

  • @Cescus86 But only Ron, can make a masterpiece playing this solo :)

  • Bumblefoot must be a younger brother of Slash...

  • Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • This is GUNS N' ROSES

  • They fuckin rock!!

  • GnR fans are such a fuckin' lucky guys.. We can hear great solos arranged by so many different style guitarists. Slash, Buckethead, Finck, Bumblefoot, Ashba, Fortus, Stradlin, even Tobias in Rocket Queen in 2001. We are lucky motherfuckers but also haters and in spite of LISTENING we are arguing which of them is better -,- Sad

  • @LajSolSirius D --> Damn, it's about time someone wrote that. Yeah, it really is c001 to hear so many different interpretations of the same songs. Though Buckethead is my personal favorite guitarist, each of them are great. Though I think I have been most impressed with Bumblefoot because he's been playing Buckethead's solos, and that is nothing to take lightly. Watching everyone play Paradise City is a true sight though.

  • @LajSolSirius well put

  • @LajSolSirius i same with you...

  • Great song.Watched new band two times, and old once, but some songs are much much better and with more power in interpretation by new band and "nighttrain" is one of them...I don't get people who compare new and old band, why do you do that...

    Bfoot solo is amazing

  • I'm a die-hard Slash fan, and I like Buckethead too, and I usually heavily dislike Axl & Co. But I have to admit; Bumblefoot fucking aced that solo.

  • i preffer buckethead solo in this song

  • ok change the bands name, get some new original material and get rid of axl and we would have an awesome rock/metal band right here!!! I'm a huge g n' r fan but re-hashing the old materials, espically with axl shit singing is ruining the originals, let them have their glory as classic old rock songs. atleast slash did a re-make of paradise city, and myles can sing nightrain better than axl now

  • Nothing, i mean NOTHING compare Slash in Guns N'Roses.

  • Bumblefot's boss

  • Best Nightrain solo ever? Slash is one of my favourite guitarists, but man, this solo, and this whole performance of the song (If you've never seen the full version from this gig, go watch it now!) is the best Guns has ever done.

  • damn... what a badass motherfucker

  • awesome!!! as a lot of smart people say over here... just enjoy it! and forget if slash is better or buckethead or bumblefoot... Guns n' Roses!

  • Stop dissing Axl's guitarists. Just be glad that stink Finck is gone. Ashba is MUCH better than Robin is for Guns. I think that ChiDem would have been much better with Ashba on the record.

  • What a fKING awesime stage

  • this can ron thal is my drum teachers brother jeff thal he tells me about him alot and iv met ron bcuzz of jeff but they got in a fight and dont talk

  • @skyflare452

Jeff was also Bumblefoot's drummer on "Hermit" & "Hands".

They haven't been making music for almost ten years now. Quite a shame because they were great together.

    Great drummer.

  • @TheGlow101 ya jeff is my drum teacher now in tampa florida hes great but ya they could have been great if they stayed together in new york

  • i thought the sweeps at the end were a little tasteless but other than that very good. Cool to see some one doing technical guitar playing over such a gritty hard rock song and still sounding cool.

  • Bumblefoot is the consumate innovator.Note the tapping with the plecta edge on the humbucker to sweep 2 octaves over the high fretted notes etc. etc.R.T. kicks anyone's ass!!!

  • Usando como argumento principal que Slash fue el que creó el riff y solo de Nightrain, ya lo hace mejor que Bumblefoot. Sin él, Bumblefoot no estaría parado en el escenario. Punto.

  • Didnt really like the solo, sounded like some vai wank and not nightrain.

  • @RhodesLives Don't worry, that's just due to ignorance ... it will disappear once you get some sort of education....

  • @o0Slipdisc0o I doubt it

  • Best version=Buckethead.

  • Damn, Bumblefoot rocks the shit out of that guitar. Buckethead may be my favorite guitarist in existence and Slash can rock the blues like no other, but jeez... this guy can jam. He was getting a little bit too off key with some of the solo though. I like his style a shitload though.

  • GnR now look like a cover band of Guns n Roses.....

  • @Daz80

    100 % AGREE

  • It sucks that people keep adding slash to any comparisons, he's a studio and/or warm up guy...at best(insulting to true artists of the guitar). He's just a victim of the mass media, and people follow the mass media like sheep. And 'Deth0' said it in his post...'different styles', but i would omit slash, his 'style' is just filler for regurgitated 80's top 40 rock.

Maybe it comes down to money...you have the money to see any guitarist solo, who in their right mind would pay to see slash? lol.

  • If Axl and Slash ever do tour together again, they need to keep Thal so the two can have a guitar duel in Nightrain.

  • stinson looks like an idiot to me...no image at all......ron thal is great...there's no need to tell it...

  • It's good to see the crowd is as dead as the band's career.

  • is Axel reading his lyrics off a Teleprompter 0:42

  • @snipazcamper2 AXL, does that for such a long time, you can see that in tokyo dvd

  • to be honest i'd rather play his version of the nightrain solo than play exactly what slash plays, cause then you guys would be like bumblefoot is just a copy of slash and a slash wannabe! So go bumblefoot! the best guitar player in the current lineup!

  • that was top drawer soloing but Bumblefoot is way better without GnR and to those that say aww but Slash did it first, I really dont remember Slash doing it anything like that, theres a lot of improv in there, a fucking LOT!!!!

  • This sounds WAY better than KFC idiot

  • @Liturgyofwar You got to be joking.

    Really.

  • @xTiLkx

Sounds 100 times better in phrasing and tone

  • @Liturgyofwar Mother of God man, are you tone-deaf?

    watch?v=Ylgv-Rg_L5E

It's because the audio quality is better that his tone and phrasing is better..

  • @xTiLkx

Keep those insults for youself while you try to fugure out what's real music

  • @Liturgyofwar Not* because

  • @Liturgyofwar dont insult Buckethead u fucking motherfucker.

  • @kivanaj

Hes an idiot.Sorry what did you say?lol

  • Old but fucking cool !!! I Love Mr. Ron 'Bumblefoot' Thal : ) I also like the Bumblefoot and the Slash version, they are really different ...

  • i am technically better than slash .am i better guitarist ? am i fuck.slash got somthing lads its not technic but the man got it .except when hes pissed that is .

  • umm...can i just say something about this whole slash V bumblefoot thing.

Its Slashs fucking solo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He wrote it first, he performed it first, everyone else is copying him! Sure, lots of artists can reproduce the Mona Lisa, but Leonardo Da Vinci's will always be the original and the best.

Well done bumblefoot, im sure slash would think you did a great job, and you did (no doubt about that). Too bad youre not Slash!

  • @Daz80 Slash can't play a single one of bumblefoot's solos.

  • @jaytonbye Maybe he can't but I betcha bumblefoot can't play a single one of slash's solos like he can either.

    They're different artists, stop comparing

  • @mdogg101slash I'd say he could - I've heard him do some pretty simple pentatonic stuff too. And besides, anyone would have to admit that it is a lot easier to do accurate mimicry of slash than in is the foot

  • Some retards compare slash and bumblefoot but both guitarists have different style. You can't compare slash who is playing hard rock with bubmlefoot who has metal style.

  • Slash's night train solo is 37,589 times better than this.

  • Good guitar player, for that style and comes across as a nice fella but for me Axl hasn't been able to find a player who can phrase and structure aswell as Slash. Thats a god given talent and give me him over every single whizz bang hired guy Axl has had since the nineties

  • If you say this solo sucks just because its fast i will slap you and i will never respect you as a lover of music.

  • Yeah Baby!~!

  • awful

  • wow that booblefoot guy is really really awful. lolshredding

  • he sucks slash for ever!

  • I love Bumblefoot, Normal is such an amazing album. It's a shame people write him off as a shredder just because he can play some flashier stuff. He's a great singer too.

  • plz but this in Palladia

  • DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • whoa axl's voice isn't as bad as i thought

  • i dont know what to think of this solo.. the guy has mad skills, but this composing doesnt do it for me. i dont know where hes going with it. i just hear bends and pinch harmonics.

  • Buckethead = Awesome in his own style

Bumblefoot = Awesome in his own style

Slash = Awesome in his own style

There are such things as stylistic differences people

  • @Deth0 I LOVE YOU

  • @Deth0 Finally someone who doesn't have to say slash is king. It's like comparing apples and oranges,

  • @Deth0 Buckethead = Awesome in his own style

Slash = Awesome in his own style

Bumblefoot = awesome at everyone's style.

  • @flacidReece - Amen to that dude. Guthrie Govan says Ron is hands down the best guitar player on earth, how can you argue with that =)

  • @Deth0 Dude ... You totally get it... :D

  • @Deth0 true enough but for guns n roses its slash....no one else..love bumblefoot though..

  • Endless arguments about Bumblefoot, Buckethead and Slash as always. It goes like this, Slash is the shit. Bumblefoot is the shit. Buckethead = Kinda shitty.

  • Gah I want to know what bumblefoot is doing around 0:35 - a tab would be awesome!

  • slash is alot slower but more melodic and intresting-every note hase meaning-but bumble foot is pure shredding power of doom but u cant fell 1000 notes in 1 second, both thal is obviusly more skilled but slash is pure feeling so both are great to listen too-some guitarist are supposed to play slow and some are supposed to be demon shredders -its called variety

  • @lonewolfshogun I don't think that Bumblefoot is a real demon shredder. He's not always just speed and skill. He mixes slow and fast melodies, and these arpeggios you can hear are just fragmented chords which announce the colour of the solo he plays.

Also, Slash plays beautiful solos, opened to weak and experimented ears. Bumblefoot's are more difficult to feel and hear, but alot more interesting.

I say what I want, but these two guitar players are both rock heroes and music gods.

  • In my opinion, Buckethead fits more with his compositions in GNR., But Thal is fucking increnible.

Thals solo in the concert in Norway was fucking increndible.

  • bumblefoot destroys slash, but slash definitely does this solo much better than bumblefoot. slash had much more melody.

  • i like bumblefoots style of playing allot (going to meet him in person on monday xD) but a cover will never be as good as the original...

  • axl needs to lose those dreadlocks...

  • epic shit...solo is way better than buckethead...more bends, more feeling, closer to the original version...the whole band is rocking fucking hard! axl is the man...all you haters are just dicks who don't know shit about this band.
