I've come to like this version a lot more than the 'orchestrated' version, mostly because of the lack of obnoxious electric guitars, which is an instrument heavily overused in today's RPG music.
Considering that this game was released in 1991 the sound track is all the more impressive, this even gives Rondo of Bloods sound track a run for its money.
I'll admit that this song was an amazing theme for the final boss, but The Oath in Felghana had a better version of this song. The Oath in Felghana soundtrack was one of the few soundtracks that had been as good, if not better than the PC Engine version.
This one totally demolishes the SNES version. I think someone should do a playthrough of the SNES version with the audio of the TGCD with the SNES version's audio muted.
Ryo Yonemitsu did really good job for arranging Ys music, especially for PC-Engine version of Ys3 and Ys4. Although for this, I personally prefer 'Kill or Cure'(JDk Band version of 'The Strongest Foe').
**Ditto to 'SNES version sucks'. Though I think Tonkinhouse did better job for making SNES version of Ys4.(Falcom did not make Ys4. They just did original plot line, characters, and BGMs)

Alas, 2:00 - 2:20 is the only part that separates this from generic JRPG music.

Because metal guitar riffs have never been featured in countless JRPGs

@CronoDyne Actually no, not during its time, considering that this track happens to be some twenty two years old.
But whatever shall we do without ignorance.

For some reason, I don't know what it is, I think Book 1 and 2 had better music.

The PC Engine definitely has the best music out of all the original versions, but I still have nightmares about the voice acting.

Well just think about Baten Kaitos..... That voice acting was awesome....... ha ha......

remaking it for a dieing system would be a waste wouldn't it? remake it for ps3 or wii would be the smart mans choice xD
