I loved this film it made me think of my best friend in high school, im bi but we wanted each other bad but i was afraid of getting caught, we ended up leaving school early and right before our class graduated i was trying to find him and found out another classmate had died in a car accident while at his funeral i found out that Tim had just died too in a motorcycle crash, I WAS HEARTBROKE they were only 17,so if your lovers or BFFs cherish your moments together. I think that for many of us this film reminds us of how we felt but were afraid to talk about or act on as young teens. There is nothing abusive in the film and nothing pornographic. It does express love, not lust, between two young people. I think this would be a good film for young teen boys because it shows love can be intense and tender between two young people regardless of their gender.

Peter turned out to be the type that Nielsen wanted except he had to have a haircut to reveal his face. Actually this is a Dutch movie, made in the 60's. European standards of what is socially or morally wrong have always been a tad off kilter from ours. For example, nudity on screen, even child nudity, wasn't considered an act against whoever. Infact, in this movie, there is a shower seen between them. It is a really good movie, however there is the aspect of being forced to read the entire movie, which makes it a tad difficult to follow during some of the multiperson arguments and what not.

I guess this must have been filmed with parental consent, given the evidently underage status of the protagnonists. One can't deny that every gay teenager would love to have an affair like that, that does not end in annihilation of all involved. Beautifully filmed, I hope for the right reasons, i.e. not for prurient pedophile interest but as public education.
