I do agree that EMU is a fine institution. I graduated from EMU in December of 2008. I was originally going to Michigan State University, but received a scholarship at EMU so I changed my mind and headed to Ypsilanti. I was hesitant at first, but I had the time of my life at EMU. I met amazing people, developed excellent relationships with professors who have helped me into my career, and I have remained highly competitive in Marketing. Much Love to EMU.
I go to EMU. My professors are generally quite good. I've only had three who really sucked. I don't see where you're coming from with the there is no "education" thing. Then again, maybe we've improved since you graduated/transferred/dropped out. We only started getting recognition from the "Princeton Review" about 10 years ago. I think we've always been a solid university, but there has always been room for improvement and we've been making improvements.
I like the video..then again, I am a history buff...this video is more appropriate for historical archives than for recruiting prospective students to the university.
This is supposed to be the rollout video for the branding campaign? It looks like a historical perspective of EMU, and not much is given in context. Not sure what the message is that they are trying to send. The photos appear to be out of sequence, if they are indeed supposed to be chronological. I suppose the "brand" is "Education First," but 8 minutes is an awful long time for them to get to the point. Don't imagine many will have the patience to sit through this.

No joke; it's EMU's brand tagline that was introduced in 2007. I am curious, though, as to why you wouldn't think it was serious. Do tell.

This is a pretty cool video. It makes me wish we were still the Hurons.
