IRELAND,if you want to save your own democracy AND democracy in Europe" vote NO !
75% of Europeans wanted to vote on any new treaty transferring more power to the EU (Open Europe figures),...they were denied the right by an un-elected commission of millionares and a "parliament" that is un-democratic and pretends to represent an imaginary "European citizen".
Google : No2Lisbon2,European Gendarmerie Force and EU Corpus Juris !
Roche, for example, is a puppet, a muppet I'd say he hasn't even read the treaty. He simply isn't believable or a credible as a public figure. The treaty has in place Plans to conduct war, so I read.
Any comment on this point? Its just like bush and the preemptive strike thing...shoot first then ask questions. I reckon the Irish will vote yes the 2nd time around...VOTE NO.
Article 33,paragraph 6 of the Lisbon Treaty allows the 25 members of the EU executive the right (with only two exceptions) to CHANGE or declare NULL & VOID ALL rules/regulations/laws present in existing treaties relating to the ECONOMY ;TAX ;CIVIL SOCIETY ;environment etc.
« Sorry,this is a dictatorial constitution » (Prof. Schachttschneider, University of Erlangen-Nürnberg).
Only the much-bullied Irish people can stop this for all of us in October !
The truth is that even now Robert Mugabe has a greater democratic legitimacy than the EU. Mugabe has been elected often in the past though now his mandate has run out - The EU Commission has NEVER been elected & the peoples of France, Holland & Ireland have VOTED NO to the new constitution/Lisbon Treaty threatening the snouts of the politicians and parasites with losing their troughs on the gravy train. The corrupt central State is determined, like Mugabe, to force new votes for personal gain
To understand the EU why not watch youtubeDOTcom / watch?v=xnMtc_QJ4-E it will help you understand the aims of the EU & those who are the minority pro group who welcome corruption, greed, centralisation and self enrichment. It makes it entirely understandable why Politicians are in favour & out of step with the peoples where France, Holland & Ireland VOTED NO to the Constitution now renamed Lisbon Treaty & note EU Commissioners have less democratic mandate than Mugabe NO ONE EVER voted for them!
Most of the 'No' voters believed that it would be possible to re-negotiate the Lisbon Treaty. Most of the 'No' voters wish to remain in the European Union (though not under the Lisbon rules). Greg is incorrect in his assumption that the Irish electorate want dissolution of the EU. The vast majority of Irish people (Yes and No voters) wish to remain in the EU. So simply speak just for yourself in future Greg. No for 'we'.
It is interesting to note that the clearest reasons supporting the NO VOTE are becoming ever more apparent after the event as we all watch those with their snouts in the troughs on the gravy train wriggling & squirming, bullying, threatening & lieing to try to force the Treaty into being corruptly & unlawfully even by their dishonest standards. The corrupt Politicians are SEEKING A SOLUTION - which part of NO are they too arrogant to accept we don't want a SOLUTION we want DISOLUTION of the EU.
Dick Roche wouldn't even protect our national heritage when it came to the M3 motorway fiasco, so why should anyone believe him when it comes to the Lisbon Treaty? Enda Kenny has now gone to the people twice and been rejected, he should resign.
There's quite a lot of xenophobia in Ireland. But there are many taxi drivers who feel threatened by the competition from Eastern European and Nigerian drivers. Putting it at its simplest, they resent the fact that these drivers are taking a share of the diminishing pie of the business out there. These taxi drivers are against further European integration because they do not want to be subjected to increasing competition from Eastern Euroopeans amongst others. Racism is rife amongst taxi drivers
"The Treaty. for example, it will make you more Democratic.." Dick Roche.
Yeah sure! And that's why they didn't allow people for a referendum. I think they use so much the word Democracy that they forgot the value and meaning of this very important word.
Great result today! EU?? Democracy?? Going to be more democratic with it's own anthem & flag? Bloody totalitarianism more like. At least you lucky people got a vote - here, Snotgobbler Brown a.k.a. Pennywise the Clown, the worst PM we've ever had decided to deny us our rights to a vote. Probably because he knew the result would be a resounding 'No' which would effect his future gravy train job in the EU when he gets thrown out of a job here, after the next General Election.
There's always an 'article' or a 'programme'which 'reveals all' and should be believed by everybody. At leasr if Greg260146 is to be believed. The reality, of course, is that it is much more complex than that and there are valid arguments both for and against.
In an exit poll this morning, 1000'soundings' were taken at 50 polling stations round the country. 49% voted 'No'. 47% said they voted yes. And 4% spoiled their votes.
The 'Yes' vote can still win if you add your vote to the turnout.
Go to hell u sneaky basterd, ur a propeganda agent for the Lisbon treaty, The Irish are indepandant and will always decide Irelands fate, The power hungry EU elite only want whats best for themselves.
I hope that those in Ireland privileged with a vote as to whether or not the EU can impose its undemocratic centralising New Lisbon version of the Constitution on Ireland as a vassal state ruled directly & undemocratically by the corrupt EU will JUST SAY NO but if they are unsure we must hope they read Stephen Castle's article 'EU machine grinds to a halt for Irish vote' as published on the 25th May in the International Herald Tribune. The Evil dishonest intent of The Union is made very clear.
We must ask ourselves what do the people who are pushing this 'Constitution' through wish to achieve? This treaty will take powers away from the people forever there is no escape clause and they can amend it in the future as they will without asking us. We are the only country in Europe that can stop it!
What the hell are you talking about. Lisbon actually inserts an escape clause for the first time, outlining the process by which a nation can leave the EU. Furthermore, there is simply no evidence to support that the Treaty can be amended without a referendum. Any amendment must be incorporated in each nation in accordance with its Constitutional requirements. Our Constitution requires a referendum for serious or radical changes to the EU treaties.
Hey everyone, I'm doing my dissertation on the Lisbon Treaty and if any Irish person is unsure of what it means for us please contact me.

I've posted this comment elsewhere just because I've seen videos that mention Hitler, to try to make a case for a NO vote on the "TREATY" . That's a self-defeating comparison. People seem to want to forget that Hitler came to power DEMOCRATICALLY, in spite of his unseemly band of brown-shirted hooligans. He needed a MAJORITY vote to make him a dictator.
Fascists are alot more civilized today. They seldom have to send goons in the streets anymore to promote fear.
Your point about Hitler being Democratically elected is a good one. People need to be careful what they vote for.
It would be incredibly foolish for our nation to vote in legislation few have read, fewer understand and one that clearly states our hard earned constitution will be an afterthought alongside this repackaged EU constitution.
