There's always an 'article' or a 'programme'which 'reveals all' and should be believed by everybody. At leasr if Greg260146 is to be believed. The reality, of course, is that it is much more complex than that and there are valid arguments both for and against.

In an exit poll this morning, 1000'soundings' were taken at 50 polling stations round the country. 49% voted 'No'. 47% said they voted yes. And 4% spoiled their votes.

The 'Yes' vote can still win if you add your vote to the turnout.

I hope that those in Ireland privileged with a vote as to whether or not the EU can impose its undemocratic centralising New Lisbon version of the Constitution on Ireland as a vassal state ruled directly & undemocratically by the corrupt EU will JUST SAY NO but if they are unsure we must hope they read Stephen Castle's article 'EU machine grinds to a halt for Irish vote' as published on the 25th May in the International Herald Tribune. This treaty will take powers away from the people forever there is no escape clause and they can amend it in the future as they will without asking us. What the hell are you talking about. Lisbon actually inserts an escape clause for the first time, outlining the process by which a nation can leave the EU. Furthermore, there is simply no evidence to support that the Treaty can be amended without a referendum. Any amendment must be incorporated in each nation in accordance with its Constitutional requirements. Our Constitution requires a referendum for serious or radical changes to the EU treaties.
