As a republican in CA, I really hate this kind of analysis. Especially when Republicans in those so-called red states argue that their states deserve more federal fundings because they send out more soldiers, that always pisses me off. CA has a LARGE ppl, so even though we send out A LOT OF soldiers, our military men percentage is lower than that of Alaska. Does that we folks in CA deserve federal fundings less than those people in Alaska? Is that fair to military men from CA?

Obama is a token president. Nobody in the silent majority really wanted to vote for him, they just didn't really want to vote for Macain either. But now in 2010 and Obama is not popular and Obama could lose re-election in a landslide in 2012 since the 1980's when Reagan won re-election in 1984. Because at 0:48 it dosen't encourge people to save their money because of taxes at the Federal Level if you live in Texas and Tennesse but elsewhere there is state on the side of Federal Income tax. Their is no encouragement to save money so you can get out of poverty.

@v19d But in Texas they have independent school systems and only a few teach both abstinence and using contraceptives and my school district was one of them. I had a teacher that taught when you have sex you use a Condom aka protection and also to abstine if you don't want to get a girl pregnent. We had limited contraceptive teaching on the side of abstinence teaching.

@tonylee1973 The Democratic Majority in Maryland General Assembly is finished in 2010 and for the last nearly 40 years they have ruined Maryland with its Republican friend Spiro Agnew and now to Martin O'Malley. they forced a anti people tax called Piggy Back tax down every county and Baltimore Cities throats. A tax that no County and Baltimore City government can't opted out of even if getting tid of it would recover a economy. But can only reduce the rate.

@tonylee1973 Don't move to Maryland because your paycheck is subject to the state unconstitutional state piggyback tax. I also believe the piggyback tax is illegal under the Federal and state powers rules where the state Governments don't have any higher authority the the Federal Government. Our piggyback tax when it is total to the State rate is not legal because it violates the Federal Law because of the rate taken out of your paycheck.

check this out. the blue states and blue people are the ones bring down the economy. blue people whether they be starbucks or union types or public service employees are the ones running up the deficit. the starbucks people made money on the housing bubble but they are now bankrupt (and they sure love those juicy social services that are collapsing.) public service bumbs and union demands have bankrupted LA. hope you losers leave the country soon.

Ah, what a douche. No, Tony, blue states actually pay for the general welfare of their own residents. Red states utterly fail at it and end up with impoverished peoples who are then supported by the Federal Government.

When blue states leave the country, the Federal Government will lose 66% of its tax revenue. The Untied States will lose 85% of its freshwater, most of its national parks, 85% of its venture capital, its fresh fruit, and its best universities and businesses.

People fail to realize that the reason these states have budget gaps and actually pay for the public programs that their populations enjoy.

This vid is "Beat on the little guy" in the worst way, the states that have the most infrastructure will obviously have better stats in the indicators cited here, but that doesn't mean that small states don't contribute, ie raw materials, agriculture, strategic locations ect.

Ohio was never a slave state. West Virginia didn't exist until the Confederacy came. No territory in the Louisiana Purchase or Mexican Cession were legally declared slave territories, and most of them were leaning to be admitted as free states.

I am so proud to live in Washington. Our state wasn't highlighted ONCE. No wonder we have 11 electoral votes now - I THINK we only had 8 or 9 during the first presidential election I can remember (1984).
