are you going to see Rage? Just because i'm not as close minded as you. Open your pallet sir. Rage and Coheed are my in the top 5 of my favorite bands, so why is seeing them in the same year bad? If it's in the same year that annoys you, then try in the same month; Rage - 6th of June; Coheed - 22nd Of June...
Haha you took my comment totally wrong man haha. Rage and Coheed are EASILY 2 of my top 5 favorite bands. I said you suck because I'm jealous haha. Not too big on Trivium though. I'm going to see Coheed on the 22nd of April so I get to see them and I'm stoked but I'm massively jealous you get to see Rage. Have fun dude.
Oh and I assure you my musical pallet is wide open. I like everything form Coheed and Rage and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, early 90's G-Funk rap, Cage, Sage Francis, harlem renaissance jazz, classical, older Metallica, Pantera...a little bit of everything.
its not like drop d is that hard to tune back and forth from. he probably just does it for effect (always and never sounds awesome on 12-string) and to pay a little tribute to his influences
No, you have it backwards. He plays the doubleneck in Welcome Home because it follows this song. He uses it for the 12-string, something which is never used in Welcome Home, making it superfluous besides its convenience.
no...YOU have it backwards...the doubleneck IS used in welcome home...so it does make sense to play always and never with it although it being in dropped d makes it a bit strange
Well, the only time the 12-string is used on Welcome Home is for the Am and C chords in the chorus, which don't use the low E string, so he can drop-tune the 12-string neck for Always and Never and not have it be a problem.
Claudio usually doesn't use the 12-string neck on live performances of Welcome Home anyway though because it's such a small part and switching necks back and forth is kind of a pain. He uses the doubleneck on Welcome Home for the visual effect more than anything.
Plus, using the doubleneck he can have the 12 string tuned for this and the 6 string tuned for Welcome Home, so he doesn't have to change a guitar at all for the first two songs.
@RY7ARD007 What I meant was Always and Never has the low string dropped an additional whole step, (so its drop D down a half step) so he can have the 12 string tuned half step down dropD and the other just tuned eflat.
@RY7ARD007 Nope--Always and Never is in Drop Db, while the rest of the songs are a half step down from standard tuning (Eb). That explains why he has the doubleneck
I used to be a huge fan of Coheed and Cambria and this tour has reminded me of exactly what I loved about them. They go all out on everything, dedication at it's very best.
I really liked your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed i use a site called Tubeviews . Net It has really done wonders for me, Keep in touch
Why.. Can I not find Welcome Home right after this?

@MaiGamer The only difference is Claudio can play a guitar and sing better and he's not overrated like Slash is.

what would you have liked them to do...dance around the stage?
josecarloszavalacarr 2 years ago
I believe he plays the double neck here because Welcome Home immediately follows this song.
candiedfeces 2 years ago
true, but welcome home starts out with acoustic too.
the only thing is that always and never is in drop d, so that would be kinda hard to transition with the same guitar lol

No the first note of welcome home is the open E. Only the 12 string is in dropped D the 6 is in standard.

@atla18 actually. both songs are played in e flat along with the whole good apollo album
