I really like John Campbell, mainly because of how he stands up for the little guy. BUT I don't think he is really fair as an interviewer. Even though I am against the policy proposed by Brown, in this interview, Campbell didn't allow Brown to fully give answers to the questions posed. It was like Campbell would ask a question, Brown would begin to answer, and Campbell would fire with another. Although I am against Brown, I still think that for democracy, we should hear all sides to stories

John Campbell is by far the best we have. State TV, TV1 has second rate guys in comparison.

But the problem with national NZ media is that they spend most of the time dealing with minor issues rather than the important stuff and this interview is a good example. The issue in NZ is immigration not Asian immigration. We already have far too many people in our 3 major cities and we should be discussing if we need any more immigration.

Aren't all NZ TV political interviews like this though? Theatrics, personality, shouting over the guest etc? NZ journalists seem incapable of asking questions and waiting until the guest has answered in a civil manner. If anything it's insulting to the viewer, as it assumes he/she unable to form their own views based on what they are seeing.
