Where do you get the clips? Do you sample songs and acapellas? I think the most frustrating thing is looking for the acapellas, unless you can filter them out yourself???
wondering, you take advantage of the PFL option with ableton? if not, I think you will flip over the potential ideas it will spawn in your setup. Oh and do you use the A/B deck function at all? I think if you were to simply duplicate all 8 tracks of your samples, and simply make the first 8 the A deck and the second 8, the B deck, you could do some very interesting xfades. oh and the aux sends become extremely handy in reverberating or delaying xfades. Later homeskills, namastai
dude, you are extremely organized and dedicated. I wish you the best of success, you definitely deserve some recognition for your incredible work. So, how the hell can you run Reaktor on every channel without crashes? Must be a fairly cpu friendly ensemble? care to trade ensembles by chance? :) got some goodies if you are interested.
Hi! I just started wathcing your movies, and i think they are really cool! I was doing some dj:ing before and i wonder if i would want to start Controlling, what gear could you recommend me?
What he does is have the vocal track running the whole time, but one of his keys on his board or one of his faders is hooked to the vocal track and either mutes it or fades it out...
nope, its deffinitely a VST effect of some description. i havent looked into Kelentrine and bellyeyes suggestions yet , but from what i have discovered of vocal removers they work on phase canceling
either way are these recomendation VSTs? ill look into it myself, ofc. but if not does anyopnoe know any VSTs? cheers
You do almost he thing I want to do! hahaha... Man, how did you make the "thing" you use? that controller, with kursweil things, scratch, etc... is it going for sale one day?>
Great stuff - I'm just starting to get the hang of Live. 2 questions. 1.) Some of your loops are coming in instantly and other are coming in on one full bar. How are you adjusting your Quantization on the fly?
2.) How are you scrolling through your tracks and loops with no mouse? Do you have something mapped on the Remote 25. So far this looks like the best all in one midi controller for Live. Would you agree?
Set the quantization of the clip or loop to NONE, and choose in what way you would like to launch it (trigger, gate, toggle, repeat). its in the Launch Box on the clip view.
dude, why don't you load a synth, and drop some basslines or melodies or chords in their? With time stretching, you should be mixing your music in accordance with key signature. Also, why don't you just use Intakt and load all the loops on the keys, and have multiple midi tracks all assigned to one instrument instead of one per track? You could get away with 1 or 2 VST's.
just awesome! can you explain the midi processing that reaktor is doing? can you not map the buttons on your keyboard to do 'macro' commands in live? Interesting to hear how you get this working
I do live re-mixing/DJ/VJ stuff as well with a MC909,X-station (which is how i found your video) a EMX1, traktor and motion dive. there are sooo many ways to do it, but yours is really ingenius. i totally dug it.
You can do this without a monster computer. most of these, if not all of them are wave files. plus effects ofcource. And any decently up to date computer can run 8 channels of wave with some vst effects on them without choking.

It's not an "effect" per se...

may i ask what type of cpu and amount of ram you are running. very impressive to have all that live and reaktor going at once.
reaktor is amazing.

Tiz very easy!
Cool moldover good stuff, you have a lot of scenes going on there.
How stable do you find the novation and it's drivers? I was thinking of the X Station for controller duties as i could use an all round synth as well.
Nice work and cool song and accap choices!

one button. for midi and keyboard control.
live is the easiest and best program for doing this stuff. jsut need some instrumentals and accapellas.
