I have it for the Playstation, just as good as far as I can remember. Amazing game, not quite as polished but still excellent. Clever boss names. ;)

A3 is still my fave boss for this game though.

Of course, you all noticed how the song of the firststage turns to be at some point a rearrangement of the hydra theme from thunder force III... i cannot explain the chill that went down my spine when i noticed... omfg :)

Although I prefer TFIV myself, this one's not bad for a spin every now and then. Just one thing for potential buyers: make sure you get the Saturn version, the PSX version is a lot less effectful.

I just played the psone version and i loved it but it's still not as good musicwise to the saturn version. But it playes great.

yup Excellent shooter. If they re-released thunderforce IV or aka Lightning force here in the states to todays standard, I prob chose TF IV. TFIV is one great shooter. All the TF are IF, If you are into 2d shooters.

The weapon of choice for score is the weapon shown in this video during the boss fight. Why cause it kills boss parts quickly = X16 = more score. One word During my time of practice when I was playing this game, One little damn mistake I had to restart the game all over from the beginning, why cause of lost score. You lose a ship, you start all over. If I remember correctly, you get a bonus per ship after you beat the game. Take lots and lots and lots of pratice. not very easy.

Working designs held a contest for this game for the ps2 back in the days. I cant remember if it was the top 5 or top 6. I cant check website as the site seems to longer to exist. But I was the last in the top highest rankings. I pratically knew this game and every secret inside and out.

Use PSXMC tool(Audio and Movie ripper from PS-CDROM) and Playstation version gamedisc.

You can ripping all music and movie from Playstation version's game CD.

I don't know about that, they fixed some of the slowdown that were on the Saturn; if anything that would make it harder (I haven't played either version much so I'm just guessing)
