I believe that male and female pokemon are slightly different.

Males are slightly stronger while females are slightly more defensive.

I don't know what genderless means, i'd assume that genderless means the Pokemon isn't slightly stronger nor is it slightly more defensive.

I don't think the gender differences mentioned above really means anything once your pokemon get past like level 7.

@GeoffShouldWin Nope, they're exactly the same, the only difference is their breeding mechanics. Pokemon have IVs and EVs which determine their stats. The mechanics aren't very complicated, but they're only worth knowing if you play competitively. If you play casually, they rarely matter. Also, I'm under the impression that newly caught pokemon possess no EVs, so IVs are the only factor which determines their stats at the beginning.

@iDrawdE IDK if this means anything, but from experience, i remember how in the beginning of a pokemon game i would notice that my pokemon does more damage to a male pokemon than a female pokemon. (this applies to gen 2/3 as far as i'm concerned)

IDK if its a stat thing. or an ev/IV thing. Once again, it gets harder and harder to notice once your pokemon gets past like level 10. Imma send you a video showing what i'm talking about. Even if you dont want to see it

I really think some of these ailments should be given a bit more uniqueness. For instance, in construction of my own imagination, sleep could alter defense, almost in a similar manner to burning, where your attack is lowered. Also, paralysis has the potential to lower a Pokemon's evasion, since you can't even move.

@DethMagnetik You need a GBA and a Link cable to trade with the Game Boy Player. The player basically turns your GC in a GBA temporarily, so you need to do it the same way you would with two GBA's

Paralyze doesn't cut your speed in half, it cuts it 25% with a 25% percent chance to attack every turn. Unless that mechanic change in later games. Well whatever that big of a deal. I think paralyze was overpowered when pokemon first started anyways.
