Yes, you are right about the Romans.And many did die on a cross, but not after scourging.Your very comment proves that Christ is the Son of God.Jewish law forbade this kind of punishment, as it was a curse to hang on a tree. The Pharisees and Sadducee's would never had knowingly gave Him over to the Romans to fulfill the prophecy that he was indeed The Christ.
