Interestingly, its being introduced by the airlines, I dont know of any that have 'taken it out'. More likely youve flown different types of aircraft that don't have the nose camera installed.

It is an option for the airline to build in their places, and some airlines choose for it. It is only available for aircraft built after 2005.

Thanks, John... I look forward to seeing the nose camera view!! I remember, many years ago, seeing a forward-looking camera image displayed to the passengers on their screens. Only appeared briefly during take-off, then no more. I don't recall the airline or aircraft. Never saw it since. I wonder if other camera views will be installed for the crew: looking at engines, control surfaces, ice, cargo hold. Might be helpful?

Great Vid. I really love this song. When I used to visit my now wife I used to alway have this song on my mp3 player and play it over and over for hours gazing out of the window of the plane. Seeing your clip with this song brings back some wonderful intense memories of both Joy (heading there) and Sadness (heading home).

It is incredible. Actually a bad day at work does happen, usually involving bad weather or delays or such on the ground/leaving the ground/approaching the ground.

But yes mostly once youve got these views, things are pretty chilled.

But then again you could say the poor guys on Air France 447 had a really bad day!

yes there are always two guys steering the aircraft, as well as an autopilot. Most of these videos were taken with me on the jumpseat and during cruise flight.

Yes clouds are visible at night if theres enough light - usually the moon fills that in nicely. Otherwise if youre between cloud layers you can sometimes pick out the different shades, but its a lot harder.
